I woke up a little bit before everyone else and I decided to help krista with kitchen duty. I got up put on my uniform cleaned my other one and did my morning stretches then I went to the mess hall.

I saw krista taking out ingredients for breakfast and I tapped her shoulder lightly. "Do you mind if I help?" I asked and she smiled brightly at me "of course! Thank you" I was chopping vegetables and I wasn't looking at the knife and I closed my eyes remembering my days with cooking with the squad and how we would joke around.

"Wow you cut fast even with your eyes closed." Said krista. I smiled warmly at her "I cook alot and Im good with knives" I said once I minced the vegetables and  started to crack some eggs. We were making omelets and grits.

When the omelets were done I placed them on trays and krista placed a spoonful of grits on each tray as well. Everyone came up and grabbed a tray and sat down and we did the same. "Thanks for helping me" said krista and I smiled "your welcome! Cooking calms me down" I said and went to go sit with the squad.

"This food is better than when the cooks cook! Get in trouble more you two!" Said sasha. I smiled and shook my head "I didn't get in trouble I just wanted to help" I said and mikasa smiled at me.

"What do you think we are doing today?" Asked eren. I shrugged "I hope its sparring" I said. It was one of my favorite things to do. We were eating when a fight broke out.

"Potatoes are better than grits!" Yelled sasha then Connie put his hands on his hips "no grits are way better!" The group exchanged glances and we all laughed. This felt nice surrounded by people who like me for me. We finished up breakfast and went out to the field and we saluted.

Connie had it wrong again and I broke formation to help him. "Connie like this" I said fixing his salute. Just then commander shadis walked over to me.

"And what do  you think your doing cadet!" He yelled I winced "helping Springer with his form sir!" I said saluting. He glared "get back into formation before I make you run a hundred laps!" I went back in between the bafoons.  

"Today we will be sparring! Your objective is to take the knife from your opponent! You will take turns! Select a partner!" Rainer smiled at me "how about it love wanna spar?" He asked and I blushed "hey stop that!" Said Jean

"how about I do one round with each on you ok?" I said trying to prevent a fight. They glared at each other but nodded. "Jean come on" I said and he smerked at Rainer.

"She chose me first!" He said and I rolled my eyes. I tied my long black hair into a bun. I had the knife this round and I had to make sure he didn't get it.

I got into my fighting stance like my father taught me and smerked. I held the knife tightly between my teeth so I could have access to my hands.

He smiled "Im not going easy on you and I hope you don't either" he said and I smiled "wasnt planning on it" then he came running towards me and I stepped to the side catching him off guard and he turned around trying to punch my jaw with his right hand but I caught it and swung my left fist into his side.

Then I pushed him off pulling my leg up causing it to hit under his jaw. He moaned in pain but shook it off and lunged for me again he tried to trip me but I jumped.

He punched the side of my face causing me to bite down harder on the wooden knife making my teeth ache.

I glared and lunged at him again and this time I used the moves my father taught me I grabbed his shoulders and pulled him down towards my knee with enough force to leave a nasty bruise but not break anything

then I threw him to the ground and stratled him and I grabbed the wooden knife and with one hand and the other I held his hands above his head. Then I pressed the knife against his neck.

"I win" I said smerking and then he winked "I like this position" I blushed and got off him. "Reiner's turn" I mumbled helping him up and I saw eren glaring at him in the distance.

He's probably glaring at Jean he doesn't like him so that wouldn't be out of the ordinary. "Your good but Im better" said Reiner. I rolled my eyes with a soft smile

"you know Reiner cockiness gets you killed if your not careful" I said reciting what I heard my father say many times to cadets. 

"Ya ya let's go I call knife" he said and I tossed it to him.  We got in our stances and I won again and Reiner ended up on his ass. you know what they say the bigger they are the harder they fall. Reiner pouted when I give him my hand to help him up "why didn't you straddle me?" He said and I glared at him playfully "oh shut up"

I walked away and when I turned I saw the both of them checking me out. then they snapped out of it and glared at each other for looking at me and thats when another fight broke out. "Seriously guys give it a rest" I said

pushing both of their chests lightly. They blushed from my touch and relaxed "thank you" I said and then I went to find mikasa. I saw her fighting Annie and I smiled as she won.

"Good job wanna spar?" I asked and she nodded we got into our fighting positions and I had the knife.

I went first and swung my hand towards her face but she ducked and landed a blow on my stomach I cringed but kept fighting like my father taught me I could just hear him yelling at me in my ear fight through the pain!

I smiled and mikasa tried to land a blow on my face but I dodged and landed a powerful upper cut causing her to stumble back. I tried her and when she tried to get up I pounced out she threw me off and we started again

We have been fighting for twenty minutes now and its because we are both equally skilled. She was getting tired I could tell I just had to hold out a little bit longer this time she tried to kick me in the face I ducked landed a uppercut then a strong kick to the abdomen then I tacked  her and did the same ending I did to Jean. "I win" I panted and she smiled weakly.

We just went limp her on the floor and me on top of her. I didn't even notice the crowd that had formed around us. They  smiling and cheering then commands shadis walked over with his usual sour expression. "What is all the commotion?!" He said

"cadet y/n Ackerman beat mikasa Ackerman sir!" Said Marco. I sighed and both if us got up and saluted.  "Good job Ackerman's everyone dismissed!" We got up and slowly walked to the mess hall. "Great job y/n me and eren can't even beat mikasa!" Said armin I smiled

"well my father taught me well" I said without thinking. After separating Jean and Reiner I went back to eating and noticed that eren was glaring at both of the boys and not just one of them weird he's usually nice to Reiner. I we t back to our cabin and I took a shower and fell asleep dreaming about home.
