Y/n POV

We were riding along the open terrain. Dirt kicked up from our horses hooves as we rode towards a cluster of trees.

I've been seeing black flares coming from my right. I was on the outer edge of the formation much to my fathers dismay.

The reason for it was because uncle Erwin knew I could hold my own.

And that is useful to keep the titans away from eren. Speaking of eren I wonder wht he was going to say?

Flashback

"hey y/n?" Eren said nervously as I was putting the tack on my horse. "Yes eren?" I said turning to look at him. I was checking my odm gear

"umm I have something really important to tell you after this mission" he said scratching the back of his neck.

I tilted my head "why can't you tell me now?" I asked and he blushed "b-because if I tell you know then we won't be able to focus on the mission!" He said.

I shrugged "whatever eren" I said mounting my horse. Then my father told us to get in formation after wishing me luck

"you better stay alive brat" he said and I skilled "of course father don't worry" I said with a smile guiding honey to the other soldiers.

"two Titans!" Someone yelled making me loose my twin of thought "on it!" I said standing on my horse before

I shot my hooks into the titan and I sliced its male before going to the other and landing gracefully on the other horse.

"good job Ackerman" I nodded suddenly a horde of titans came towards us from.the back. "What the hell!" I yelled standing in my horses back with the others. "Sent a flare!" I yelled

The black smoke filled the air above us and we all got into our stances. We were all slashing titans when I suddenly my string got grabbed by a fat ugly titan.

"Let me go jackass" I said about to slice his fingers when he flung me. I flew in the air my black hair whipping all around me when I ran into a tree.

A branch impaled my stomach and I groaned. My wires were all m caught in the branches. My head was pounding and I saw blood dripping from it.

I grit my teeth. I can't go out on my first real mission. I thought. Then my father and eren came into my mind. I need to love for them I thought angrily.

I tried to reach for the flare on my side but it hurt like a bitch. I grabbed it and shot it in the air. Maybe this might help them find me I thought before blacking out.

Hanji's POV

I was upset that the female titan had gotten away. Levi was with mikasa trying to get back eren and I was on body control with a few other people from my squad.

I looked at Petra sadly as I put her in a bag. I saw a flare band I titled my head. Why is there a flare? I thought then I looked over to molbit (I think?)

"Im going to go check it out!" I said and he groaned "section commander now's not the time" he said and I rolled my eyes.

I got on my horse. "well this will also be good because if I see any bodies in can tell you and pick up some." I said and he sighed "your the boss"

I laughed and rode off towards the signal. I walked through the trees and I tied my horse when i saw something that made my heart shatter.

"Y/n!!" I said running towards her. She had a gash on her head and a large stick on the side of her stomach.

I checked to see if she was breathing and much to my dismay she wasn't. I broke down crying as I hugged her bloody body.

I cut her body from the tree and caught it in my arms as she fell limp toward me. "Im so sorry" I cried touching her beautiful raven locks.

I put her on my horse and I rode back wiping my tears only to be met with another round as all of my memories with her flashed in my mind.

Molbit had a face of horror as he saw y/n in my arms. "Put her in a bag for me please" I said Turing away.

How am I going to tell Erwin..... Or Levi. I sniffled and I walked back towards molbit. "ill carry her to the cart." He nodded gazing at the body bag sadly.

All the other bodies were loaded and she was the last one. I rested her on top and I wiped my tears.

"what happened hanji?" Erwin asked from behind me "Y/n" I said in a shaky voice. He froze "what about her?" I pointed to the bag and he got the idea.

"Don't tell Levi until we reach the base understand. We don't want him to be rash" I nodded willing my tears.

Eren was in the recovery cart and mikasa was with him. I looked at him sadly. He was planning on telling her how he felt today.

He came and asked me about all her favorite things and planned out a little date for them in the base. Now his little heart is going to be crushed. I mounted my horse again and rode quietly silently morning.

The only sound I heard was the clip clips of our horses hooves. Levi seemed upset and I knew that it was because his squad had been wiped.

I frowned. I knew how precious y/n was to Levi. His only child and his only family by blood. First his friends then his wife and bow his child can he ever get a break.

I thought sadly then I heard the thumping banging banging of titan feet. turned back and saw two people riding with a body
