Winter Solstice

We were back to sea as soon as I was healed, Iroh and Zuko thought I could use a break from fire bending so instead I practiced my water bending. I stood at the front of the ship and played with the water. Moving it, pulling it into the sky and moving it around my body. " Your skills are improving greatly" Iroh smiled at me " Thank you, I'm trying my best since I don't know any water bending techniques" I smiled. " Are you sure we cant find you a teacher?" " I wouldnt want to anger Zuko, he doesnt seem keen on having a water bending master on his ship". " Like it or not he needs to realise you need one or else you'll never reach your full potential" he sighed " Give him time, I'm sure he'll catch on when he sees you practicing" " Thanks Iroh" I smiled as I started practicing again.

We got word of the avatar and made our way to an island to stop for supplies before we continued our search. Zuko and I were standing by the ship while we waited for Iroh to come back. We even sent soldiers to look for him but he wasnt found anywhere. Zuko groaned before grabbing my arm and walking off to look for him. After a few minutes of yelling his name and wondering through the earth bending island we called out to him again. " UNCLE IROH WHERE ARE YOU? ITS TIME TO GO!" Zuko yelled.

" Over here" we turned and saw Iroh lying in a hot spring. " Uncle? We need to move on, we're getting closer to the avatars location and I dont want to lose him". " Why dont you relax nephew, come join me in the hot spring" " Uncle we don't have time for this! Get out now!" Zuko yelled at him. " Alright I'll get out" Iroh started to stand up and I jumped when Zuko wrapped his hands over my eyes. " On second thought why dont you have a few more minutes". I laughed as Zuko walked me back to the ship " What was he thinking?" " He knew what he was doing Zuko" I giggled " Your scars are looking better" " You think so? I've been using the water to heal them" " I thought the healer said-" " Yeah she did, but I do it once a day to make sure they dont get infected or anything".

We waited another few minutes before Zuko got mad, " That's it come on I'll drag him back to the ship if I have to!". I ran after him as he stormed back to the hot spring, but when we got there Iroh was gone and there was rocks everywhere. " Earth benders" I spoke up " UHH!" Zuko yelled before looking around " Stay there!" He said before running off. He came back with one the rhinos, he pulled me onto the back and I wrapped my arms around his waist. He smiled back at me " This is going to be a bit bumpy so hold onto me if you get scared".

We were off, Zuko following the tracks while I looked around for anything noticeable. " Zuko!" I yelled " What?" " Isnt that Iroh's shoe?" Zuko stopped and jumped off and picked up the shoe. " Ugh yeah that's uncles horrible foot smell alright". I noticed a shadow fly over us and I looked up and gasped " Zuko it's the avatar" Zuko's head snapped up and stared as the bison flew. " Zuko?" He closed his eyes and snapped his head away " We need to find my uncle" he hopped back onto the rhino and continued down the road towards his uncle, I couldn't help but look back at Appa. All my friends were just out of my reach.

After a while of riding we heard a commotion, we noticed Iroh fighting against earth benders and quickly jumped in to save him. " Three against five you are clearly out numbered" a soilder said " Yes, but you are clearly unmatched " Iroh grinned. The earth benders were the first to attack us, though we easily avoided their attacks. I easily took down two soldiers with a double kick fire ball, before being thrown out of the way by Zuko. I gasped as a rock just missed my head, " You need to pay attention to all of your surroundings Scarlett, not just the people in front of you" " Your right". We easily defeated the earth benders and turned to Iroh " What happened?" " I was just enjoying my hot spring when these soldiers imprisoned me in the rock and took me as their prisoner".

" Let's go, I know where the avatar is". We made it back to the ship as quickly as possible and were off on the avatar chase once again. We somehow managed to catch up with Appa but we were closing in on fire nation waters. " Zuko back down, that is fire nation waters!" Iroh yelled " I dont care" " You should! Once you go into those waters I wont be able to protect you!" " My father will understand why!" " My brother is alot of things, understanding isnt one of them". Zuko ignored Iroh's warnings and continued on " What do you think will happen to Scarlett?"  Zuko and I both turned our attention to Iroh, " Your a banished prince, and shes a water tribe girl. Your father will be more angry that you brought her into his nation. You know your father likes to hurt people Zuko, do you think he will spare her when he learns of your feelings?".

" Stop!" Zuko yelled, the ship stopping in the middle of the sea," I have a plan". Zuko got onto his small boat and I climbed on with him, " You are not coming with me" " Of course I am" " You'll be taking prisoner if they catch you" " And you wont?".  Zuko sighed " Zuko, my friends are here for a reason. I want to see them, I want to make sure they're safe" " Fine, but you'll do exactly as I say. If we get caught we'll both be in big trouble". We slowly made our way across the water, the black smoke from our ship giving us a blanket to hide in as we made our way to the tower. I could already feel Iroh's worry, but we'd return to him safe and sound, I know we will.
