I Found You

I tried my best to hide my bending, not even when something happened. I made myself look like a normal, boring person just trying to find work when I was able to find work in a tavern as a waitress. The earth kingdom guards in the town were worse than the fire nation soldiers, they bullied the townspeople, abused their power and would never stop harassing the women of the town.

The tavern uniform didn't help with how tight the skirt was and kind of revealing the top was. The earth soldiers harassed me constantly, they would smack my ass as I walked past, would grab my hips, and kiss my neck but of course, I always stopped them from doing anything else.

I sighed I worked my shift, I waited at the bar for my table's drink order and I couldn't help but let my mind wander. How was Zuko doing? Did he miss me at all? Or was he finally happy I was gone, and out of his way? Did he miss me as much as I missed him? " Oi!" I jumped in fright as the bartender put my drinks on my tray. " Stop your daydreaming and get back to work!" " Yes sir, sorry" I sighed before making my way to my table and putting down their drinks.

I let out a yell of fright as I walked away, one of the Earth kingdom soldiers had pulled me onto his lap, one of his arms wrapped around my waist as the other stroked my legs. " Hey beautiful, I was hoping you were working today" " Hi Ted, please let me go it's busy today". " Hey now, I'm a paying customer and I'm protecting you from the fire nation, so why don't you show me some gratitude". " Ted please, my boss is already mad at me today", I tried to get up but he wouldn't loosen his grip on me.

" You know I've always wondered what you whole face looks like" He hummed, " I told you, my eye patch has to stay on", I let out a panicked breath when he suddenly pulled it from my head and forced me to look at him. " Two coloured eyes, I like it" He hummed, moving my hair out of the way to nuzzle his face into my neck.

" Ted stop, I'm not in the mood for this today" his hands slowly began tracing my body as he ignored me. " Ted stop it" I slapped his face as hard as I could as he grabbed my breast. He stood up angrily, letting me drop to the floor, the whole tavern went quiet as they stared to see what was happening. " You dare to hit me you tavern whore" He growled, grabbing the front of my dress. " I told you to stop!" I yelled at him " Just because you're a soldier doesn't give you the right to touch me, I said no so that means no".

I let out a cry of pain as his large hand grabbed the hair from the back of my head and walked out of the tavern and into the town square as he pulled me with him. Everyone in the town square and the other business came to see what was happening. " I just want everyone to know, this is what happens when you refuse to cooperate with one of the soldiers!" He yelled out before smacking me across the face, letting me fall into the dirt.

Ted made a whole show out of me for a few minutes, from striking me to even ripping the back of my dress to humiliate me. I held my dress up as I cried, while everyone in the town watched as Ted kicked me down into the dirt, leaving his foot on my back. " Well lookie here, seems the tavern whore has scars from disobeying her previous master as well. " Hey leave Poppy alone!" A little boy yelled before he ran over to me.

" You leave her alone! Poppy is a nice lady" " Lee, what are you doing? Go home" I cried, " No! I'm not letting this idiot bully you" Ted kicked Lee out of the way before grabbing my hair again, I let out another cry as I tried to keep my dress up. " Last chance to tap out Poppy, give in to me and I'll stop". " Okay, I give in just please stop! Don't hurt Lee please".

" Lee!" A man from a distance shouted, a woman sitting behind him as they rode in on a bird. Ted dropped me to the ground again, I couldn't help but let out a small cry as my body hit the dirty ground once again. " I thought I warned you about your son" Ted glared down at the woman, " Please Ted he's just a boy" the woman held her son before turning to me. " Poppy" she held my face " It's okay, I'm giving in" I smiled " I'm sorry about Lee".

The man that brought Lee's mother into town made his way over to us. He helped her and her son up, before stretching his hand to me. I looked up to meet his face and froze when I saw Zuko...." Zu-" " Hands off!" Ted yelled at Zuko, pushing him out of the way. " This here is my woman" " She doesn't belong to you!" Zuko yelled at him, " What did you do to her?!" " Lee it's okay" I spoke, standing up on my own. " Your dress" Zuko shot his head at Ted, rage flowing through him " What did you do to her?!". I put my hand on Zuko's chest " Lee it's fine" " I'm keeping my woman in check, got a problem with it?" " Ted I'm not your woman, please let's just leave" " Don't leave with him".

" Lee" " I haven't seen you in weeks and when I do I find you like this? He's hurting you, just come home" " Home? Is this your old master Poppy? The one who gave you all the scars? He clearly isn't good enough at his job. Don't worry I'll teach you properly" he laughed, smacking my ass. Zuko suddenly punched Ted in the face, everyone in the town square let out a gasp of surprise. " Lee!" I yelled out, Zuko grabbed my face " What did he do? Where did he hurt you?" Zuko looked at me so worried.

" I missed you" I cried, throwing my arms around Zuko. " I missed you too, there wasn't a day that I wasn't thinking about you". "Behind you!" I yelled out as Ted came at Zuko with a sword. Zuko pushed me out of the way and pulled his two swords from his back, fighting off Ted and the other soldiers. Zuko was winning for a while before he lost his swords, he looked around in a panic before sighing in defeat.

I held my mouth as he used his bending, ending the fight against the earth kingdom soldiers quickly. Everyone in the town stared at Zuko as if he was a monster, " Zuko" I stepped forward, Lee's mother pulled me back " Poppy no! He's a fire bender". I pulled my arm from her grip " He's my friend who saved me from these abusers, he isn't a monster". I threw my arms around Zuko in a hug, smiling up at him " Thank you for saving me Zuko".

" I missed you too Scarlett" He gave me a sad smile, " Get out of here you monster!" A man yelled. " How can you all be so cruel!" I yelled at them, " Ted was beating me, humiliating me in front of all of you and you just let him. Zuko saved me! So what if he's a fire bender, he helped us". " Poppy, all fire benders are the same" Lee's mom spoke up, " No they aren't" " You wouldn't understand dear, you're just a child" " I'm a fire bender too!" I yelled out.

" Scarlett" " Both of you get out of our town, you're putting us all in danger being here". " Come on Zuko" I sighed, Zuko pulled me to his bird and helped me up before getting on after me. We rode out of town on the bird as quickly as we could, " I cant believe I found you again" Zuko finally spoke after a while of silence. " How did you end up here? Where is Iroh?" " I left him, after you left I couldn't stand being around anyone. You were right I had to learn what it's like to be alone, and I never want to extend it again. Please don't leave me again" " I won't Zuko, I promise".
