I Love You!

I watched as Zuko's little sister left, making sure she was out of ear shot " Who the hell was that?" " Princess Azula, Zuko's little sister" Iroh answered. Zuko suddenly started packing up his stuff as Iroh sat at the table with a troubled expression on his face, while I leaned against the door. " We're going home, after three long years it's unbelievable", " It is unbelievable. I have never known my brother to regret anything" Iroh spoke up, looking as if he was trying to figure something out. " Did you listen to Azula? Fathers realized how important family is to him. He cares about me". " I care about you!" Iroh yelled " And if Ozai wants you back I think it may not be for the reasons you think" " You don't know how my father feels about me, you don't know anything!" I sighed as I listened to them argue, I thought Zuko hated his father for banishing him, how can he stand there and defend his father when Iroh has been looking after him for three years?

My eyes widened as I heard Zuko what Zuko said to Iroh, " Zuko!" I yelled making him snap his head towards me. " What?" " Don't you dare talk to your uncle like that, I don't care what you think or say about your father but don't you dare speak ill of your uncle" " This has nothing to do with you Scarlett". " You forget your father was the one who banished you, but your uncle chose to come with you. He didn't have to, he could have let you go off by yourself for the last three years but he didn't!" " Scarlett, it's quite alright" Iroh spoke up. " The important thing right now is to figure out what to do with you" " What are you talking about? Scarlett is coming with us" " Nephew, Scarlett isn't from the fire nation. You're father won't allow her to enter his kingdom" " But if he realises she's my girlfriend then maybe-" " I'm your girlfriend?" I asked " Of course you are" " I thought this Mai was".

Zuko stopped and stared at me with wide eyes before turning his head away " That was a long time ago" " So I was right, she is your girlfriend". " She's not my girlfriend, she never was. We were just friends" " Then why your face go red when Azula brought her up? Why did you look so hurt when she said she was going to tell her about us?". Zuko sighed " I don't know what you want me to say" " I want you to tell me then truth, do you have feelings for this Mai girl?" " Yes, but I have stronger feelings for you". I scoffed and shook my head, Zuko stepped forward and grabbed my arms " Don't touch me!" I yelled, pulling my arms out of his grip and backing away. " Scarlett" " No, don't touch me", " It's not that big a deal. I'm with you, not her" " I don't want to be someone's second choice Zuko!" I yelled at him.

" I don't want to be with someone who doesn't really want me" " I do want you" " Only because you couldn't have her. But now you're going back to the fire nation, you're getting your title as Prince back. So you'll go back to her..." " Scarlett that's not true!". " Zuko I told you months ago, if you go back to the fire nation then we're over....I think its time we do". " What? No! Scarlett" I turned away and walked towards the door, Zuko grabbed my arm " No! I won't let you leave me!" " If I step foot on fire nation land I'll be kept as a prisoner or worse. Just let me go" I was trying hard to hold back my tears, but I couldn't hold them forever. I needed Zuko to let me go so I could cry by myself, knowing he had feelings for someone waiting for him to comeback broke my heart. " Scarlett don't do this, I told you I need you with me to be complete" " We both know that's not ture. You said it yourself, you want your honour and your throne. So just go home and take them but leave me alone".

I tried to pull my wrist from Zuko's grip but he wouldn't let me go, " Let me go Zuko" " No! Everything you're saying is wrong and I won't have you thinking I don't care about you" " You don't care about me! I can't be apart of your world Zuko! I'm a water tribe peasant and that's all I'm ever gonna be!". I finally pulled myself from Zuko's grasp and ran out the door " Zuko don't! Leave her be, she needs to be alone" I heard Iroh behind me. I ran and ran until I was at the other end of the gardens, away from their room. I grabbed onto a tree and cried, sliding down and sitting in the dirt. I pulled my knees to my chest, crying into my arms as I hugged myself. Tomorrow I'm going to all alone with no money, no food, no nothing and I don't even know where I am.

I sat up and looked up at the moon, " Why was I so stupid to think Zuko and I could be together?" I asked myself,  Why am I being so stupid?! It's so obvious he never cared about me, he had Mai waiting for him, someone who is from his nation, someone who's from his childhood, not some water tribe girl he took. I hadn't realised how long I was out there for until the sun started to rise. I looked up at the sky surprised, I was out here crying all night? Maybe I fell asleep and I didn't even realise it?

I stood up and dusted myself off before walking back towards the house, being as quiet as I could as I walked through the door. " Where have you been? I've been worried sick!" Zuko yelled, " Shouldn't you be on a ship home" I snapped walking past him. " Scarlett this attitude has to stop" " Leave me alone Zuko. Unlike you, I now have to find a job and a place to live". I gasped as Zuko pinned me to the wall, glaring down at me " Why are you acting like this? Why do you suddenly hate me?" " You are going home! You get to pack up with your uncle and go home to paradise. I'm stuck on this island with nothing and nobody, so forgive me for being salty about it". " I already told you you're coming with me" " No I'm not" " Yes you are" " If I go with you then I'll be a prisoner" " That's not gonna happen, I won't let it" "Why? Why do you even care what happens to me?!" " Because I love you!".
