" Cant we just use Appa to fly out of here?" Aang asked " No, my instincts are telling me we'll get caught. I think it would be better if we walked for a while" Sokka suggested. We each grabbed a bag and started walking through the forest, it was alright at first but then we all started getting tired. " I dont like this walking thing" Aang complained " You can thank Sokka's instincts for that" Katara smiled " This bag is heavy" " Maybe you can ask Sokka's instincts to carry it for you". " That's a great idea! Hey Sokka's instincts-" Sokka cut Aang off " Haha your so funny, lets just go!". We accidentally walked straight into a bunch of fire nation soldiers that surrounded us, " Well what are we going to do now?". Smole bombs and weapons started attacking the fire nation soldiers from the sky, we looked up and saw a bunch of kids arent our age attacking, the soldiers ran off leaving us alone.

" Thank you so much for your help" I bowed when one of the guys stood beside me. " No need to thank us. We're the freedom fighters, we always keep this path clear of fire nation soldiers. Who are you?". " We're team Avatar" Katara butted it, " I'm Katara, this is my brother Sokka and the Avatar Aang" she introduced them. " Its nice to meet you, buy what's your name?" The boy asked me " I'm Scarlett" " Its a pleasure to meet you Scarlett, I'm Jet" he kissed my hand. " Do you need a place to stay?" He asked " No we're fine on our own" Sokka spoke up " Actually yes we do" Katara butted in again.

" We'll take you to our hide out. Guys help them up" Jet ordered, one guy came down from the trees and grabbed Sokka, before being pulled up again. Aang jumped up himself while Smellerbee took Katara. Jet wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me in tight. Our bodies pressed against each others as we were slowly lifted into the trees, I had my arms around around his neck so I wouldnt fall. I looked up at him, he was smirking back at me and I couldn't help but blush. When we reached the top of the trees he let me go, " Follow me I'll show you to a room you can stay in". We followed Jet to a huge room and smiled " Thanks Jet, this is just what we need" Katara smiled at him " You're welcome".

I tripped on the floor as I came through the door, Jet caught me easily and smiled down at me " You have to be more careful Scarlett " " I will, thanks" I smiled before putting my stuff down. " I'll come get you when it's time for dinner, so settle in and relax". Katara was at the door watching Jet leave, she suddenly closed it and turned to me with a burning anger. " What?" I asked " Could you not flirt with every guy you see" " What?". " Jet was clearly trying to talk to me and you kept getting in the way, and that whole tripping bit are you serious?". I looked at Katara dumbfounded " I have no clue what you're talking about" " Of course you don't, you're just that perfect you need to have every guy right?".

" Katara!" Sokka yelled " What? I'm right" " That's it! I cant take another second of you two fighting" Aang yelled. " I'm not fighting anyone! Its Katara! You know what I'm going to find somewhere else to sleep". " Scarlett dont go" Sokka begged " I'm sorry Sokka, but I cant be around Katara anymore. Not when she treats me like this, you're my best friend but shes just a bully". I walked around with my bag for a while, trying to find someone to ask for another room. " Scarlett is that you?" " Jet?" " What are you doing? I havent lit all the candles yet, you could fall" " Sorry I was just wondering if maybe you had another room?".

" Not really, space is tight these days. Why? Is there something wrong with the room?" " No its-....its complicated" " Follow me". Jet took my bag from me and walked with me for a while. He threw my bag into a room before pulling me up to the top of the trees. We sat on a branch and looked up at millions of bright stars in the sky. " Its so beautiful" I gasped " Isnt it, this is my view every night. I never get tired of seeing it". " Jet, how old are you?" " I'm sixteen" " Why dont you live with your parents?" " My parents were killed by the fire nation".

" Oh, I'm sorry for asking" " Dont be, where are your parents?" He asked in return. " My dads off fighting in the war, and I never knew my mom". Jet put his hand on my leg and moved closer to me " I'm sorry to hear that". It was quiet for a while before Jet spoke again, " I could hear you fighting with your friends" " Oh, sorry about that. It's been happening for a while" " What are you fighting about?" " Its a long story" I sighed. " Hey" Jet gentle took my face in his hands " I've got time" " We're all from the South Pole, when Aang showed up he and Katara set off a trap and signaled the fire nation to our village. Aang left so we could defend it but he came back just in time to save us".

I took a deep breath before continuing " Sokka is the only man of age in our village so he was the only warrior. I got angry seeing him being beaten by the fire nation soldiers so I attacked them. I ended up fire bending" " What you're a fire bender?" " Yes, but I don't know how. My father is from the south pole and he told me my mother was too. But I can also water bend. I know its confusing, I've been confused since it happened". " Then what happened?" " I got taken by the fire nation, along with Aang. Katara and Sokka came and saved Aang but they left me on the ship". " They abandoned you" " Yeah, but since we've been retunied Katara has been mad at me. On the ship the fire nation soldiers taught me how to fire bend. I don't know why but they did. And I want to learn how to water bend but Katara refuses to show me how, she treats me like a criminal".

" I'm sorry to hear that, but she shouldn't treat you like that. What if you had refused, they could have hurt you". " I was hurt, one of the soldiers did this to me" I pulled my shirt down and showed him my scar. " That bastard" " I just hate feeling like an outsider" " You're not an outsider, your a brave woman for surving what you went through. Trust me when I say, your a warrior, and no matter what anyone else says I think you're amazing".
