I Wouldn't Have It Any Other Way...

First Goodbye

Zayn's POV

I wish I hadn't agreed to this.

Harry had begged us to go to America to spend new year with him and now I was sat in a Starbucks in the middle of Times Square on January sixth, alone.

Me and Perrie broke up a few weeks ago. It was for the best really because all we ever did was argue. But I did miss her.

I sighed and chewed on the straw of my Caramel Cream drink. I was supposed to meet the boys at around lunch and it was five to twelve now. I got up, taking my drink and newspaper with me, and started walking to our hotel.

"Zayn!" Niall shouted from the window of his room, still wearing his Christmas jumper.

"What?" I shouted back.

"Hurry up!" He sounded desperate so I started fast-walking.

I got into the hotel reception and got into an elevator and pressed level eight. I got out of the elevator and found room 178 and knocked on the door. Niall opened it right away, he looked anxious.

"What's up mate?" I asked him, slightly worried.

"I can't find them!" He said.

"Find who?" I asked him, confused.

"The boys! Do you not see that they aren't here!" He said getting frustrated.

"Okay, okay mate, calm down. When did you last see them?" I asked him.

"About an hour ago. Louis went shopping with El, Harry went with them. Liam said he was going to McDonalds." He was calmer now.

"Alright, you wanna go find them? Liam will be easiest to find, McDonalds Is just around the corner." I suggested.

"Okay, but we need to be quick." He replied.

Niall got his jacket on and we walked out of the building into a huge crowd.

"What? I thought our hotel was being kept secret?" I asked Niall, annoyed.

"It is." He sounded confused.

Then I noticed the crowd was circling that Jai kid from the Jana..skins? Liam showed us some of their videos before. But why was he in New York? He had his arms around a girl in a red coat, I couldn't quite make out who she was.

"Oh well, lets just get to McDonalds." I said, pushing it out of my mind.

We walked quickly. Usually we would make time for fans but we needed to find the boys and fast. We walked into a half-empty McDonalds to find Liam eating a Big Mac on a table with Harry, Louis, Eleanor and a bunch of fans.

"There you are!" Niall went over to the table, slowly followed by me. He took a seat next to Liam and I slumped into my seat next to a fan.

"Hi Zayn!" She said, excited.

"Hi love, what's your name then?" I asked her with a smile. My fans always made me feel on top of the world.

"I'm Allie! I'm so sorry about you and Perrie, you guys were so cute." She seemed genuinely upset about it.

"Aww sweetheart, don't you get upset over that." I said reassuringly.

She giggled. "Thanks Zayn, your such a nice guy! Do you mind if I take a picture with you?"

"No problem, love!" I was ready to pose as she got her phone out.

"Oh my god everyone check twitter! Look at those pictures of Jai and Ariana!" She exclaimed.

All of her friends got out their phones and started discussing how cute they looked.

"Jai...?" Louis started.

"Jai Brooks, from the Janoskians." A girl with blonde hair said.

"And Ariana is?" Louis asked.

"Ariana Grande. You know, Cat Valentine? Victorious?" The same girl said.

"Oh! Yeah I know her! Let me see the pictures." The girl passed Louis her phone.

"And that's cute?" Louis was on the brink of a laughing fit.

"Louis!" Eleanor shoved him.

"I'm sorry babe!" He said, still smirking.

Allie passed me her phone. Jai was wearing Ariana's sparkly headband.

"Eh, they're an alright couple." I passed her phone back.

"Right, guys I'm sorry but we have to get going." Liam stood up.

"Awwwwww." The girls all said in unison.

"I know, I know," Harry pulled one of the girls into a hug.

"Bye girls!" I waved as we walked onto the street.

"So what you guys buy?" Niall asked.

"Nothing. We got mobbed so we escaped to McDonalds." Louis replied.

"Why didn't you answer your phones!" Niall was getting annoyed again.

"Calm down" Harry said. "We won't do it again dad."

"No, seriously" I said. "We were worried about you."

"Guys, guys why don't we just all stop and do something productive." Liam said.

"Like?" Harry said.

"Ice skating." Liam seemed happy.

I hated Ice skating. I'm so bad at it. But, all of the other lads agreed on it so my opinion counted for nothing. I sighed and followed the boys to the ice rink.

Ariana's POV

I can't believe Jai's going back to Australia today. To say I'm gonna miss him is an understatement, its gone so fast. We were sat in the airport; me, Jai, Frankie and Liz. Soon enough his flight was called and my heart broke. I hugged him so tight.

"Ariana, we'll speak everyday.." He started, but then looked mischievous. "Like we used to."

"Bye man." He gave Frankie a hug.

"Bye gorgeous." Jai said jokingly towards Liz with a grin.

He looked back at me again. "See you soon princess." He kissed me slowly. I pulled away and looked at him. "See you soon, Jai."

He walked away and Frankie and Liz hugged me. I couldn't help but cry.

"Hey, how about we go ice-skating, yeah? Sound fun?" Frankie suggested.

"Okay." I held onto Frankie's arm as we walked away.
