Chapter 23- The real adventure begins

Note^ this chapter takes place 1 hour after the last and the picture above is what Louis is wearing!

*Louis' pov*

"Dewey left!" Webby yells as Dewey dodges a snake. I move a little further back so he doesn't hit me, lucky me I'm already behind everyone. Unfortunately though Huey isn't to far in front of me and he keeps looking back at me. 'He better not try to talk to me.' I think, as I catch a glare from Lena. 'Wonder how mom's doing.' I think, dodging a low branch.

*Goldie's pov*

'Dark scary forest my ass, I've seen kittens more dangerous than this!' I think as I cut through another vine. I honestly hope this gets more challenging the further into the forest I go, because this is boring. 'Hmmm, wonder if I could wait until Scrooge's group sets off most of the traps; I could probably reach the gold treasure before they find the stone, and Louis did say they most likely don't know about it..... But Louis is also with them and he could get hurt setting off traps...' I think, dodging to the right so I don't step on a snake. 'No Goldie, Lou is perfectly capable of taking care of himself, he's a strong kid with good judgment and heisting experience, he'll be fine!' I try to convince myself as I lean to the left to avoid a really low and dark branch. 'Besides he's an O'gilt, he can talk his way out of anything!' I reassure myself, continuing to try and dodge low branches, snakes, and some other things I couldn't really tell what they were. But at least I'm passed the vines! Hopefully Lou will be ok, and hopefully I can make it to that treasure before Scroogie finds out it exists. 'Wonder how Lou is doing with the others...'

*Louis' pov*

'Ok Louis you're an O'gilt, just find a way to make him stop talking to you!' I think as I pay half attention to what Huey is saying. I move slightly to the right to avoid a darker branch from hitting me. 'Looks like the trees are getting darker bark the further towards the center we get..... Interesting....' I think. "Ahhh-" I hear Violet as I look down and over to the left. Looks like she almost fell before Lena and Webby caught her. 'So watch your step got it.' I think as the other kids quickly help the 3. I just stand behind the rest, only paying attention enough to notice when they started walking. 'Guess I should probably pay more attention, after all I'm not sure how many of them would actually try to help if I fell, but it's not like I need the help anyway.' I think as I quickly change my footing to avoid a softer spot.  'Probably how Violet fell, wonder if mom knows about that.'

*Goldie's pov*

'Now that's more like it!' I think as I dodge to the right to avoid a bear like claw. I quickly swing my sword at a animal I can't quite describe. It has bear like paws and claws to match, but looks more like a mix between a lion and a bear, but makes a sound like a distorted human scream. I manage a good hit on it was it quickly runs away. 'Now that's better, monsters, darker trees, soft spots that can cave into holes!' I think as I quickly move to avoid a soft spot so I don't fall.... Again. 'Wonder how Sharpie's handling this?'

*Louis' pov*

"What the hell is that!" Della yells, pointing at an animal like thing. It kinda looks like a mix between a bear and a lion, and looks to have sharp claws. We all cover our ears as the thing screams, sounding like a distorted scream. It seems to have scared off the ice blue deers I was looking at earlier. 'Oh shi-' I think as I dodge to the left as quickly as I can, just barely missing the thing's claws. 'Well isn't that interesting.' I think as I notice a cut next to the right eye. 'So I guess mom's probably not to far behind us.... Perfect!' I think as I quickly find a good branch and use it to swing my self further into the nearest tree. Using my legs as support I hang upside down and quickly get my sword from my belt. Using the leverage of being higher up I managed to cut the thing on the other side of the face and the upper left arm. It screams again before running further pass us, seemingly scarring off some snakes in the process. 'Knew I should have grabbed my stolen pirate sword!' I think as I hook it back on my belt loop. Interesting story, I actually stole this from some pirates me and Goldie fought for some treasure a while back, it was fun! I look over at the others to see genuine shock on their faces. 'And just when I thought I couldn't get anymore annoyed!' I think as I drop to the ground, and do a dodge roll, using my foot and another tree root to stop me. I get off the ground and brush myself off looking back at the others. Lena was just looking the other way, Scrooge was clearly doing his best to look unimpressed, and Della, Webby and Violet all were still in slight shock. And I wish Huey and Dewey still were because that would be better then them walking towards me. "Wow, how did you learn that!" Dewey says as he walks up to me. "Ya that was amazing!" Huey says as he puts a hand on my shoulder. "Just experience." I say in a cold voice as I shrug off Huey's hand. "Well we're close so lets keep going!" Della says, seemingly noticing Scrooge already walking again. 'Well, this should be interesting.' I think as we start walking again, still watching my footing so I don't fall. 'Hopefully I'll see mom soon though.....'
