"That should be it," The doctor announced. I sat up and didn't feel any pain. I moved my shoulders and it felt tight where the bandages were but there was no pain.

I nodded and stepped off the table and the man put up his hands. "That is going to hurt for a while. You need to take it easy," he warned. I brushed him off and kept walking.

"I'm fine."

I strode down the hallways and back to my room. I need to get to the R.I.S.E building. I glanced at the clock and I winced at the time. "After I get some sleep," I told myself.

I pulled my mask off plus my socks and climbed into the bed pushed off into the corner. I woke up several hours later and rubbed the grogginess out of my eyes. I walked over to the map on my wall, picking up a red marker, and circled the R.I.S.E building.

I ran a hand through my hair and trudged to the bathroom. I started brushing my teeth and pulling on some new socks. My suit still had blood on it plus the rip. I sighed and grabbed the jacket and a rag and started rubbing away the blood. I threaded a needle and began patching the rip.

Once the repairs had been made I walked over to the small dresser by the foot of my bed and pulled out new black jeans and shirt. I pulled the clothes on and slipped my boots and jacket on.

I picked up my mask and noticed the blood splatter was still there. I grinned and pulled it over my head and clicked it shut.

I pulled my door open and slipped out. As soon as I was out of the facility I disappeared onto the nearest rooftop. Jumping the rooftops again was better than any therapy session. The wind, the clean air, the view of the water surrounding the island. It all felt like home.

The laboratory towered over all the other buildings in the center of the island and the glass exterior shimmered in the morning sun.

I pulled out a tablet and sat down. I pulled up the building schematics and started mapping out where the best entry and exit were. Plus, the weakest points.

"Look who's back," A female voice said behind me. My hand froze and hovered over my holster. "Oh, there's no need for that. We just want to talk," I stood up and turned around.

"You brought a friend. That's probably for the best." I snarked. "Knowing how last time went," I added. The girl fumed but relaxed again. I looked around and didn't see anyone.

The girl regained her composure and rolled her eyes, an air conditioning unit launched off the concrete floor and flew towards me. I rolled away and pulled out my gun.

"You just want to talk?" I grunted, clicking the safety off my gun. Vengeance raised both hands and a figure flew up and landed on the building.

"Great another super," I mumbled. I raised my gun. "If you want to talk, you better start talking," I warned.

"Okay, okay. Just put the gun down," She said. I hesitated but lowered my weapon but didn't click on the safety. "We're special operatives for R.I.S.E," She explained.

I raised my gun again and she backed up, "Woah, hold on. Let me finish," She paused. "We want to work with you. Not against you," This caught me off guard.

"What?" I questioned. The girl took a hesitant step forward. "You're one of the first supers Demise. Do you know how valuable you are to our research?" She asked. One of the first? I wondered.

"Valuable for what research?" I demanded. "To make more," She paused.

"More what?"

"Supers. R.I.S.E is making more supers."
