I didn't think shopping would be so tiring. By the time we had finished, I had nearly a whole new wardrobe for parties, balls, casual, flirty, and comfy. I had found out that Louise was hoping to become a fashion designer, and was looking to start off her career as a stylist. Her shopping spree with me had shown just how competent she was in the job sector, if ever she needed a reference, I would have nothing bad to say. Zayne, on the other hand might.
We finished our little shopping spree just past four, and we stopped off for a quick snack before we headed home.
'Do you want to come to mine?' I asked her, I didn't really want to arrive at a house party I had never been to alone.
'I can't,' she pouted, 'I have to meet with Vince and sort some things with him before the party.'
I nodded quietly.
'I think Darren is picking you up.' She said as though she could see where my thoughts were heading. 'He won't just make you arrive on your own. Plus, you don't even know Mally's address,' she smiled. 'Do you need a ride?' She swung her keys on her fingers.
'You drive?'
'Only the cutest little bug in town.' She smiled.
'Bug?'
She smiled. 'You don't know cars?'
I shook my head. 'I guess Mally and Darren do though.'
'They all do, they race sometimes.' She shrugged, 'Mine was my eighteenth birthday present from my Granna, before she died.'
'What's a bug?' I asked.
'Come see, I'll drive you home.' She said excitedly.
I followed after her into the car park, and we approached a baby pink Beetle. 'Oh a Beetle.' I said with realisation.
'The guys hate it,' she smiled. 'I love it, hop in.' She opened the boot and put both her bags and mine inside then joined me in the car.
'Did you enjoy today?' She asked.
'I have never had this experience.' I admitted, feeling embarrassed.
'So.' She shrugged, 'now you have.' She started the engine and we began to leave the car park. 'Here put your location on here, we will get directions from NAV.' She pushed the device to me and I put in the code to my house without thinking.
'I did enjoy today.' I said answering her, 'but I don't think I can go shopping for a year.' I sighed
She laughed. 'You don't work?'
I shook my head. 'I'm seventeen.' I admitted.
'It sucks right,' she smiled, 'shit wage for young people, while older people do same work for more.'
I laughed. I couldn't tell her my mum was living off fraudulent cards, and well duplicated fake money with the help from a spirit because she feared being caught by psycho scientists.
'Are you sure this is the way?' She asked, as we went down the long dirt road towards my home.
'Oh I forgot to tell you.' I grinned as she looked concerned.
'Oh no, this is where you tell me you're a creepy murderer right?' She feigned horror.
I couldn't help but laugh.
'Vince is always warning me not to mess with strangers, now it's over.'
'I live in a tree.' I told her, sounding more serious than intending and in return she brought her car to a stop.
