By the time Saturday arrived, I was so on edge I had shouted at Zayne three times, threw my socks at Asha and slammed my door in frustration. Now I was sitting on my bed not really sure what to do. I picked up my phone and checked the group chat. Dropping a quick message asking if I needed to dress up or down.

The girls all said up.

The guys left me on seen.

The next thing I knew I was being called from Mally. I answered it and tried to sound calm.

'Are you freaking out?' I heard Louise ask on the other end of the call.

'Louise?' I asked surprised.

'Yeah, duh.' I could almost see her eye roll. 'Darren never gave you my number did he?'

'No,' I said. I completely forgot too, not that I would admit it to her.

'Meet me in an hour, we will buy outfits for tonight.' She said.

'Where?' I asked, feeling a ball of anxiety rising in my gut again.

'Inoka shopping square.' She replied sounding excited. We can do a shop for tonight and for next week.

'Next week?' I asked.

She laughed full of heart. 'Yeah the ball,' she answered. 'Vince is taking me, so I will be there.'

'But I-'

She hung up and I had no argument, and apparently no date for next week, fantastic.

Inoka square was well known, and very expensive. All the people in the latest fashion trends swarmed there, while us commoners avoided it like we might catch some raging disease.

'Amii,' Asha's voice from the other side, 'can I come in?'

I frowned, since my birthday he had made a habit of giving me privacy, most of the time he now slept on the sofa in human form rather than on the shag rug in my room in his wolf form. It made me feel a little sad.

'Come in.' I offered, taking a musical trinket from my bedside and turning it so it played a soothing tune.

He glanced at it and smiled brightly at me. 'I bought you that for your fifteenth birthday.'

I nodded thoughtfully. 'It's still my favourite.'

He smile grew, then he walked to the window to look out. 'Are you ready for tonight?'

'Not really.' I admitted, moving to stand with him. 'I just got told I'm going shopping with Louise, and I think I'm going to be in debt for the rest of my life after tonight. Can you please make sure you have a healthy supply of toast to feed me until my death.'

He nudged me with his shoulder and smiled. 'You will enjoy it,' he looked at me then and grinned, 'besides we both know you are going to take Zayne's credit card for this little shopping spree.'

I laughed, he was right but I didn't want to say so, instead I tugged his ear, slightly more pointed and longer than a human's ears but great to tug on when necessary.

'I would invite you, but I don't think shopping for bra's and lingerie stuff would be your thing.' I teased.

'I will pass.' He admitted easily, then turned to me, more serious. 'I think I found us a place.' His eyes watched me carefully.

I stopped smiling. 'Can we afford it?'

A mischievous smile touched his lips. 'Unlike you I still know what I'm capable of when it comes to magic. Don't worry about that.'
