It had been two days since I had a chance to approach Mally, before then I had plenty of conversations with him over texts, sharing jokes and casual chat, he had eventually added me into a group chat of his close friendship circle in total about ten of us had freely chat, passed jokes, memes and random selfies, until Darren himself had decided to message me in private, hinting about taking me to the dance. I chose to play dumb and he never pushed further.
'Mally!' I cheered as I seen him walking to the class.
He stopped and turned with a vibrant grin and looked around over the back of me before looking back to my eyes. 'Hey girl, you sure like to use your voice now, huh.' He grinned, waiting for me to catch up.
I blushed and looked away. 'I guess.'
'So are you coming to the party? you never made it to the beach house.'
I had been asked that by almost all the people in the group chat and I hadn't really gave any real answer. 'Everyone keeps asking me that.' I said a little nervously, reaching in my pocket to give him back his little Nokia.
'Of course they do.' He put an arm over my shoulder walking with me. 'It's your first party, if you're coming, were gonna make it bigger and better.' He winked and took his arm off me as we reached class.
'Really all that for me?' I frowned.
He raised an eyebrow and reached to touch my cheek then reconsidered. 'Yeah, we just like more reasons to have bigger parties.' His lip quirked adorably, 'well see ya.' He turned to leave.
'Wait.' I said, 'are you skipping class?'
He looked back and shrugged. 'I don't like the teacher,' He waited a moment, 'wanna come with me?'
This was it, an opening.
I peered through the stained window and back to Mally. 'Where to?'
He laughed a little, and jerked his head. 'Come on. Let's go.'
I followed him to his black modified boy race car, I really wasn't good with cars and their brands, if it went vroom and didn't clunk out mid journey, that was all that mattered.
'Hop in,' he nodded to the passenger side.
'Where are we going?' I asked, as I shut the door.
Another smile. 'You'll see.'
He shifted the car into gear, and too quickly put his foot down. The wheels spun and then we were off. It didn't take long for us to pull up at a pristine looking house, with a well kept lawn and flower bed.
'Where are we?'
The drive here, we had exchanged idle chat about nothing too interesting, in fact I was pretty sure since actually talking to him, Mally probably wasn't actually my type, unless I focused on his looks alone.
'Come on.' He jumped out the car and I followed, hearing the beep of the car locking behind us.
'Is this your home?' I asked curiously as I walked up the little path to the door.
He rapped on the glass a couple of times with his key then let himself in.
Obviously not.
The sound of rap music and gaming came from a room which we headed to, and I looked around to see Darren, two other lads and a girl on one of their laps making out with someone whose face I couldn't see. Darren was too engrossed in his game to look back.
