I have to admit, on my way home I was totally spaced out, this day had finished perfectly....Well almost, since Asha had left early, I had to take the bus home and the constant curious glances and whispers in my direction left me feeling a little uncomfortable.

Mally,

Mally,

Mally.

My brain was singing his name reliving over and over the first time he spoke to me, memorising his voice. Today everyone noticed me as more than just the weird girl.

As I stood at the front door, back in the clothes I had left the house in, I smiled like a girl in love, sickening I know.

'Oh no.' Zayne, Mother Dearest said, coming up behind me with shopping bags. 'I know that look.' She frowned. 'Where is Asha?' Her eyes scanned around for him.

Asha.

His name wasn't as sweet as Mally's, it left me feeling somewhat bitter. I smiled and pushed open the door to the house and threw myself on the sofa with a contented sigh. 'I don't know. I just feel-'

Mum stared at me from the doorway, the shopping in her hands overflowing the bags. 'Who did he let you kiss?' Genuine worry tainted her voice.

'Let?' I sat up. 'Kiss?' ha! If only. 'If you're talking about Asha he left school ages ago. I finally spoke to Mally.' I flopped back on the sofa as Mum walked past and put the stuff away in the kitchen, I didn't miss the concerned look on her face.

'Well that's nice.' She said rather disingenuously. 'I'm sure he will make wonderful wolf food.' Her smile was sharp.

'He invited me to a party!' I sat up again and peeked over the back of the sofa, my hair coming lose from its bun fell to my face. I looked at Mum, blowing a strand from my nose, before decidedly unpinning the rest of my blonde hair and letting it fall freely.

Penteluck appeared on the space next to me copying my hyperactive mannerism, peeking over too, and then glancing at me playfully. 'Am I invited too?' He asked in a loud whisper, his doe like eyes vibrant and his brown hair as wild as it always was.

'Err no.' I shoved him and rolled my eyes, not missing how he was mocking my excitement.

He gasped and peeked back over the sofa to Mum, 'I'm not invited.' He loudly whispered to her.

Then joining in she whispered back just as loud. 'Hey Penteluck, you're not cool enough.'

He gasped in mock horror, putting a hand to his lips, they laughed together.

'You guys are both nerds.' I got off the sofa and made for the stairs, seeing Asha in his wolf form sitting blocking my way. Good vibe gone, one of his ears twitched.

He whined, his ears tilting back and eyes looking apologetic.

'If you want to apologise do it like a real man, and do it in human form. Coward.' I pushed past him, and the laughing nerds behind me stopped.

'Oi,' Mum shouted back. 'Get back here.'

I stopped mid way up the stairs. 'Hmm?'

'What happened?' She asked her eyes going from me to the wolf.

'I figured since he is already home, you know the details.' I countered with a similar bitchy smile to the one she had given me earlier.

She couldn't argue, I was right. The only details she didn't have was how well the rest of my day went without the lurking "older brother" being around.
