I woke up to the beautiful tweeting of the birds. Today wasn't the day I wanted to wake up though. My parents got a job in Hawaii, and we're moving there today. I didn't want to go. The only thing in my room was 7 big boxes full of my things. I groaned and got out of bed. I heard my parents calling my name, telling me to get dressed. I saw a note on my window in which I went over and got it. It was from my friend, Shilow. It said:
" Meet me at the bus stop before you leave, I something to give you."
So I got dressed, brushed my hair and teeth, and got my shoes on. I walked downstairs and into the garage. Grabbing my bike, I road down to the bus stop. I thought my parents wouldn't mind, I mean I'm only going to be gone a minute. I saw my little friend sitting on the sidewalk. I knew it was going to be hard to say goodbye.
" Hey!" I said.
" Lily, do you have to leave? You're my only and best friend!!" she cried.
" I don't want to leave either but, things are already settled."
" Here, take this and don't open it till your at your new house in Hawaii, Ok?" she asked.
" A letter? Okay!" I said.
I saw a teardrop come out of her eye. I could tell she really didn't want me to leave. I opened my arms, getting ready to say goodbye. She gave me a hug and we sorta stayed that way for a little.
" Don't worry, we'll still stay in touch I promise. This is just a see you later, okay?" I whispered
She sniffled and let out a silent "Okay."
I put the letter in my sweater as I got on my bike. I turning back, I waved and left with tears in my eyes. I got on the driveway were I saw my dad putting boxes in the carrier.
" We're have you been?" my dad asked.
" Just saying goodbye to my best friend..." I whimpered.
I walked in the house wiping away the tears. I went in my room to grab the boxes, and one by one, I was thinking of what the letter maybe said. Soon all the boxes were packed in the car. I got in and sat in the middle of my mom and dad. We drove to an airport that was maybe an hour and a half away. I didn't say anything on the way there.
When we got there, our boxes were transported to another airplane. We went through security and everything was ready. When I got on the plane I sat next to a window and my mom sat next to me. The airplane was ready to take off as I could hear the engines getting louder and louder. Soon we were in the air. I looked out my window, and all I could see was the white fluffy clouds. I started to think about all the things I had to start over.
" An old life passes, and a new life starts.."I whispered.
