"Yes!"
"What you're protecting there is a demon," I called out to him. He seemed so frail and exhausted as he held the demon close to him.
"I don't want you to get hurt, so please move away!" Shinobu spoke to him in a much softer voice, which was understandable, since she was a lot closer to him than I was.
"Y-You're mistaken!" He stutters desperately, " I mean you're not mistaken, but...She's my little sister!"
Tanjiro starts again, "She's my little sister, so you see.."
Shinobu covers her mouth and I could sense not a single drop of empathy in her voice. I could sense that she could not have cared less about Tanjiro's sister no matter how desperately he tried to save her. I don't have much idea on what's going on here, but I knew for a fact, that the boy wanted nothing than to get out of this situation- I could sense his fear and worry for his the demon he was cradling. All the emotions I managed to sense were all negative emotions and feelings- fear, worry, sadness.
"Is that right? Poor thing," Shinobu pitied, her voice slightly muffled, "In that case, I shall use a gentle toxin to kill her, so that she won't suffer, all right?"
She clasps her hands around the hilt of her sword, the flat end close to her face and reflecting the poor boy's face, which dropped sadder as she spoke those words.
"Can you move?" Giyuu told the boy. I had almost forgotten his presence in the intensity of this moment. He still stood there, his expressions unfazed as usual, arm still guarding Tanjiro and his sister.
"Make yourself move, even when you can't move," he nudged, "Take your sister and run."
"Tomioka," he started frail-ly, his body visibly aching as he stood up to move, "Sorry for the trouble!"
"Thank you very much!"
I watched as he dragged his body up, the weight of his sister definitely slowing him down. Such dedication he possesed! I truly admired him- I'd definitely see him as a spectacular little boy. I want to be able to protect Shinobu and everyone else the way he protects his sister. It truly is amazing how a demon and a human could get along so well! I wonder what Urokodaki did to have Nezuko act like this, especially towards her brother, Tanjiro.
