The whole Glee Club is sitting the the choir room, waiting for our first Glee practise with Coach Sue. Artie looks like he's gonna throw up so I've elected to sit beside him and keep him company. Mr. Schue held an ultra secret Glee Club meeting yesterday, probably to make sure that our allegiance stays with him. He ended up doing the exact opposite by ignoring Mercedes and Mike's suggestions for things the Glee Club can do, and letting Rachel make blatantly racist comments.
Sue and Mr. Schue walk in together and explain how they're both gonna try to do something knew with the Glee Club.
"Ladies first." Sue says and brings out a coin to flip. It's almost definitely that double sided coin she bought from a trick store a few weeks ago that she convinced Britt and I to drive out just outside of Lima and pickup for her. Mr. Schue looses the flip. "Awesome. All right. Following students have been selected... for a special elite Glee Club called Sue's Kids." We all look around at each other, afraid to separate.
"Hold on. We agreed not to split up the group." Mr. Schue holds up his hands and comes to our defence "We can't even compete in sectionals if we divide up the club, Sue. It's against the rules." Coach pulls out her trusty show choir handbook that I'm sure she's spent like a week memorising for this exact moment.
"Really? You need to crack open a book, William. Here. I have. Show Choir Rule Book. Page 24. Provision 14. Second addendum." Wait why does the book have a weird way of separating things like it's the bible or something? Mr. Schue looks exasperated, grabs the book from Coach, and starts reading.
"Twelve members must perform for each team. However, not all members must perform every song." Mr. Schue looks up from the book, over to Sue and rolls his eyes. "Fine. Hey, just go ahead, take all the football players and your Cheerios." Mr. Schue sighs at her and it feels as if we're not really part of the club, and just some dumb preppy kids who are just there too.
"All right, everybody. Listen up. When you hear your name called, cross over to my side of this black, shiny thing." Sue ignores Mr. Schue, and I can't tell if she's just trying to piss him off or she just doesn't know what a piano is (Either way I love her).
"That's called a piano, Sue." Mr. Schue sighs, exasperated. Sue ignores him and starts reading from her list.
"Santana, Beatrice" She starts yelling out names one after another and I Santana and I get up to stand by her. "Wheels, Gay Kid?" Sue yells again and I see that this has took a turn... Kurt and Artie look rightfully shocked but ultimately comply and she yells at them to move it. "Other Asian, Aretha, and Shaft!" Sue turns to Will. "I don't want to participate in a group that ignores the need of minority students." So this has gone in a direction I definitely didn't expect... Cause not even gonna lie, I thought Coach was just gonna grab all the Cheerios and Football players as well (we are just some dumb preppy kids who mostly had ulterior motives for joining and are ultimately just there!).
