"GOOD morning, sleeping beauty," Jay let out a small chuckle, his voice groggy and face too tired to even form a smile, yet he had just the right amount of energy to tease Jake, "happy you decided to join us, Jiheon has most likely dialled your number about a hundred times."

The said blonde gestured to the fuming underclassmen right behind them as Jake awkwardly made his way towards Jay, hoping to hide behind his best friend in hopes of not getting the living shit beat out of him.

"Sorry, I couldn't wake up for the life of me," he gulped, trying his hardest to avoid Jiheon's burning gaze, "if it wasn't for Hyung, I probably would still be snoring into my pillow."

Jay sighed but patted the male's head nonetheless, sending a sympathetic smile to ease the brunette's anxiety, "Don't sweat it too much, you're here, and besides, the bus hasn't shown up as well."

Jake let out a deep sigh, closing his eyes and finally relaxing.

He didn't mean to be like, really! It just so happened that after yesterdays study session with Sunghoon in the library, he might've gotten a little caught up and ended up staying too late. He felt the embarrassment creep up his spine as he recalled yesterday - he was so into it, somehow working with such progression that he lost track of time and ended up cooping the younger up with him for much more than he would probably like.

If coming home at 8 PM with his older brother teasing him the whole car ride wasn't enough, he also got a handful of taunting from Jay over text, the male insisting him to tell each and every detail.

He groaned to himself, shuffling his white hoodie over his head, tying the strings up in hopes of hiding away from the world, "I am not ready for today."

Jay merely hummed back, putting back both of his airpods in as he kept patting Jake's back in silent comfort.

They stayed like that for a bit, patiently waiting for the bus to pull up and gather up all the tired students at ass o'clock on a freezing morning, even Mr Kwon looked like he was about to turn into a popsicle.

"What's taking the bus so long? It's already 10:50," he heard one of his teammate's mumble, making Jiheon check her watch automatically. All she did was shrug whilst looking around, hoping to possibly spot their assigned bus. She looked pretty calm, but Jake saw right through the act - saw how she was anxiously moving around, clutching her bag with shaky hands.

"Mr Kwon, do you have any information about the bus?"

The teacher turned his head, averting his eyes from the...Chinese finger trap toy?

Jake stared at his teacher's trapped fingers as he listened, "Well, I know that the hockey team is riding with us, but that's about it."

Jake's head shot up automatically, glancing at Jay out of pure reflex. He mouthed 'hockey team???' and Jay simply shrugged, making the brunette roll his eyes because he really doesn't know what else he was expecting from the blonde, he DID have airpods in, after all.

"The hockey team?" Jiheon didn't hide her shock, looking mildly grossed out by the fact.

"Yep," Mr Kwon popped the 'p' and continued to toy with the trap, averting his attention away from his students.

"Great." Jake heard their club president sigh, "could this get any better."

"Sorry that we're late!" a loud voice boomed through the whole campus front, jolting Jake out of his trance. The brunette flicked his head to the source of the noise and found a whole team of boys walking their way with duffle bags in hand.

"The bus is on its way as well!" the coach of the team smiled, happily walking towards them.

She looked fairly young, was what Jake had first noticed when the coach finally made it to them, a row of hockey players on her tail.

"Good morning, everyone," she happily smiled, making Jake smile back on reflex.

She soon walked over to a very startled and awkward Mr Kwon and started explaining everything about the trip arrangement, leaving the physics club and hockey team to awkwardly stare at each other, Jiheon might've even been glaring.

It lasted for a good 10 seconds, however, both sides soon minding their own business or talking amongst their club mates.

"Why are you hiding?" Jay suddenly asked, startling the living daylights out of the brunette.

"What are you talking about?" he questioned back, looking at his friend with furrowed eyebrows, "I'm not hiding."

"You're standing as close to me as possible whilst ducking down, are you scared of Sunghoon-" Jake quickly covered the male's mouth, a blush creeping up at an embarrassingly fast pace.

"Shhh, don't talk so loud." Jay rolled his eyes but went back to playing on his phone after getting bored, letting Jake do whatever the hell he was doing.

His hiding plan lasted for maybe three minutes before Sunghoon had made his way towards him with a knowing smile, "Good morning, Jakey Hyung."

Jake pulled the strings of his hoodie as hard as possible, hiding his face completely, "Good morning, Sunghoon-ah."

"I'm really surprised to see you here, we got the notice about the bus situation this morning," Jake nodded and shyly glanced back at the raven, noticing the heating gaze from both the physics team and hockey club.

Was it really that weird that Sunghoon was talking to him...

"Are you sitting with your friend?" he asked, still keeping the bright smile smug on his face, glancing at Jay who had been standing there awkwardly, pretending to do something on his phone.

"I, uh, yeah..." Jake rubbed the back of his neck, untangling his hoodie to free his face.

The taller nodded and it fell into an awkward silence as all of them patiently waited for the bus to pull up, the brunette's heart beating a little too fast for his health's liking.
