Chapter 3: No one's Perfect

       Everybody was crowding around the girls' dorm. Me and Carly were confused as to what was going on. It was so loud it was hard to even hear our thoughts.  Once we got a glimpse of the room there were giant plants in her room. The plant went through the wall.

"Jeez, what the heck?" I mumble. Carly looks at me.

"It's a plant spell gone wrong and the mistress won't be happy nor will be when she sees her dorm, Lizzy." She explains to me while we leave the crowded area.

"Who's Lizzy?"

    "Lizzy is, urm well, Lizzy. She's a lot sometimes and she cares more about ranking than friends." She tries to explain as we walk down the stairwell to get to breakfast. 

Once we got down to the bottom floor at the cafeteria to get biscuits and gravy from the chefs in the kitchen.

    Honestly, the cafeteria is beautiful, the fireplace is cozy and the homey feeling I never got to have back on Earth it was nice to feel at home with decor, but the people don't feel very friendly and I didn't feel very at home besides with Carly.    

Soon enough I finished my plate of food and I craved more it was so delish I haven't ever had something like this except for when I went to my grandmother's house when my mom was in the hospital from well her poor actions. The food was calling my name so I left the table and said. 

"Hey, Carly, I'm going to go get some more if that's alright." Carly nods her head and continues to eat. As soon as I leave the table the plane crashes into my uniform and dirties my face alongside my hair.

"Ugh, really?" The words fly out of my mouth before I can think.

"EXCUSE ME? Who do YOU think you are, Miss Earthling?" The girl demands snobbishly.

   "Uhh, well, I didn't mean it like that. It was just an unconscious reaction. Plus I got most of the food on me anyway, so what's the deal?" I explained nervously.

"Leave the girl alone, Lizzy, I don't want you talking to Earth trash." Some guy tells the girl. 

When I looked at the guy, I noted he was actually quite pretty for a magical, I half expected all the males in here to have long white beards. He may not be ugly at all but he sounds like a total ass so I think I'd pass on that.
"Seriously, you're calling me trash? Have you both looked in the mirror because I'm sure you'll find some with those disgusting expressions on your faces?" I bite in annoyance, finally walking away to get cleaned up. Ugh, what brats. Do they kiss their mother with that mouth?

Once I reach the girl's bathroom, I step inside. The first thing I notice is that it's kinda bland and has cream-colored tiles with floors of a grayish material. There are only 3 bathroom stalls and 3 sinks in the bathroom. I wash up and clean off my uniform. I was hoping not to get it dirty right off the bat but I guess it'll be fine.

      "Hello, I saw what happened in the cafeteria. Carly said to come to check up on you. I'm Ophelia, a Legacy Tempest." she said, handing me napkins to wipe off the food particles.

"Thanks, Ophelia. My name is Amethyst. I'm new here. I just started yesterday and a lot has happened so far... I don't know how to feel about it, All I know is that it was a good chance. This life is way better than the one I had." I say, moderately forlorn.

"Oh? What realm are you from-- Oh wait, Lizzy called you an earthling so you're from Earth, right? I've never met an earthling before." She asks curiously.

"Yeah, I would prefer you call me my name instead of earthling, though, heh hee..." I nervously chuckle in embarrassment. 

"Oh yeah, sorry. I didn't mean it poorly. You're pretty cute, too! You're probably even prettier than Lizzy herself." Ophelia explains.

    "Uhhh... thanks, I'm not used to people calling me that." That's been twice in 2 days, "And I think Lizzy is prettier, to be honest, but also stuck up. Speaking of stuck up, who was that guy?"

"Oh, you mean Rain? He's a GD and he's basically kinda stuck up alongside rude just like Lizzy. Lizzy just likes him for his looks and the fact that he does not like anyone here so she can use him for his title but I think he's the one with a plan, he's honestly got something up his sleeve recently.." she says.

        "So he's normally a 100% asshole?" I say with an amused smirk. "Yup," she says. 

She and I are heading back to the table when I see Lizzy using fire magic against Carly's water magic in a magic duel. She is still struggling in the fight though everything inside me was telling me to fight and defend... 

"What the heck, Ophelia, we have to stop her!" I yell bolting but she snatches my wrist. 

       "We can't, it's against the rules in magic dueling." She says, pulling me back. 

"SHE'S BURNING CARLY!" I ripped my hand out of Ophelia's grip and she flew backward with tiny purple sparks. I didn't care or notice. All I could find myself caring about was that Carly was getting hurt. I pushed through the crowd of people and lunged between Carly and the fire. Lizzy's magic didn't hurt. I was too angry to notice or care about it.

 All I could think about is you hurt my friend and expected me not to react?! I threw my hands up and then purple magic shot out my hands, it slammed into Lizzy, and she crashed into a pillar of stone 28ft away from The pillar cracked a little and the last thing I heard was Carly calling my name before I blacked out. 

All I could think about was if everyone was alright. 

How did I do that?
