Chapter 6: Betrayal Is Bittersweet

  I stammer over my own thoughts. How was I born here? I was born on Earth. At least... I thought I was.

"What do you mean?" I shout as I run up the stairs.

Lizzy gets muffled by Rain as they both begin talking at once but to each other. When I get up to the top of the stairs I see Lizzy has run off and Rain is holding the cat which I still haven't found a name for.

"What the hell were you two talking about?" I demand, mildly exhausted.

"Nothing. I think it's best if you get to your dorm. Carly is probably worried about you since it's late. " He says deflecting the question

. I knew he was hiding something even Carly was hiding something, I don't understand why lies are more important than friends. Unless we aren't friends.

A Few weeks later, about 6 am in the morning

I wake up to Carly quickly moving stuff around her side of the room. I pretend to be asleep ever since the stair issue she's been hiding and sneaking off to go do things. She rushes out the door and shuts it quietly.

 I get up and put on my normal clothes since it was the weekend and put on a hoodie that's a black sweatshirt with a white cat on the back and dots on the elbows. I put on leggings and running shoes and do a cloaking spell I learned yesterday. Now I can follow Carly. I'm tired of being lied to. That's all that seems to happen anymore 

Memory 1: 2 days ago

I jolt up in the chance to battle the rain.

" Mr. Alsina can I battle him?"

"Well if you want too but I think he's a higher ranking than you," he says, sorting out paper and grabbing rain battle sheets and mine as well.

"Well that's why it's perfect training. Plus me and him are friends I think.'' I say as I turn around looking at the rain and his foxlike attitude towards me.

I know you're lying but about what I've known you for less then a month yet you fill the void with secrets and lies.

" Rain, Battle time!" I say walking up to him he stares at me in disbelief.

"Erm, Are you sure you wanna battle me? You've only had magic for like what a month yet you walk around like you've had it forever. '' he stands taller than me and makes me feel intimidated.

"Well I may not have had it forever but I can battle you to practice and if you're such a good magic wielder like everyone says then you won't mind fighting me," I say getting hyped for battle.

"Swords or magic.?" he says to me, clipping his sword on.

"Both, and no rules other than no killing me please" I chuckle jokingly.

"Mk, whatever you say, but don't expect me to go easy on you." he says walking out the door.

After I enchant my sword and clip it on my back I head down to the arena. I've never been in the arena myself but I see others fighting in there all the time. It's enclosed by black stone and grass on the bottom and structures for cover I'm assuming. I see rain standing there talking too Carly, those two seem to talk a lot now. I walk up to both of them and they stop talking, "Hey, rain let's begin."I say.

"I'll be the ref, mkay am?"

"Yeah sure thing Carly"

After a few minutes of setting up, we are at separate ends of the field.

Carly waves and says " One, Two, Three, Begin!"

The fight begins with a fireball straight at my face as it passes me grazing my ear. I bolt to the nearest block. And touch the ground growing massive trees everywhere in the area. I bolt behind the trees and watch his movements. He's got a fireball pulled up on his right and a sword in his left. Can't rush him because of the fire too. The best attack is vines and sword rush. I bolt towards him, my sword out and vine attack his right wrist to the tree putting out his fire

. " got you now!" I just barely graze his face with the tip of my sword cutting him a little but then I'm upside down hanging by my own trees.

"Not bad, swordsmanship could use work." He gets out of the vine and goes to use a fireball and can't.

" enchantment of magic, rain. You can't use magic." I say slicing vines so I can land on the ground.

" I didn't need it for the match'' he says using the sword and cuts the necklace i had and it falls onto the ground.

" WHat the heck!" That was my fathers!" I snatched it up and bolted off. The rest of the memory is hazy i can't remember everything it was really painful soon enough i snapback to reality

Current time:

Ugh, I can't believe he broke that, are we friends or not? I say thinking to myself when I look up at Carly's path I notice she goes into a classroom. I follow her there and she's talking to rain. I get closer to hear what they are saying.

"Hey, rain I don't think lying to her is the best way to go about this. Her magic is getting better , you fought with her, you more than anyone should know that."

"Still ain't nothing I can't handle, I understand you don't wanna cross people but your father is notorious for backstabbing his own blood. Do you have her necklace?"

She nodded and handed it to him. " I can't believe they've been conspiring to backstab me. I see a flash and two women and then it goes dark again. "Those are her parents.." Carly says in utter shock. " We really shouldn't have lied to her. Carly says panicked.

"You've gotta realize that her parents didn't want her to begin with, they sent her down to earth for a rea-" he stops and hears me move the desk slightly

. "There is someone in here." rain says heading towards me and I bolt out of classroom up the stairs into my room and then i grab mellow and stick her in my bag and bolt all the way down to the outside of the school.

" Time to find my parents now." everything startled me to add up but why would they not want me to find my parents and why are they lying to me?

I would have helped them. How was Lizzy, a girl who's only ever been rude to me, being more honest than them? Never should've trusted him. Why do I have to trust people so easily? As I'm walking into the forest towards the Tower of Olympus, I see a giant cliff in front of me. "Mellow, Do you think we can make it down there ?"

The cat nods its head in agreement as we slowly make it down the step cliff. A few minutes pass but somehow I lose my grip.

" Mellow!" I use the remainder of my magic before I blackout to have mellow land safely. Rocks and Trees around me snap and crack as everything turns black. Everything was peaceful, maybe I should stay here forever.
