"You good?" Rosemary asked Finn eyeing him closely.

This was his first mission as an official agent. Inevitably, Daniel had been worried out of his mind but had managed to keep a professional composure when bidding him farewell. He knew his brother had passed all the tests with flying colours and Rose was a good agent, they worked well together and were going to come back safely.

The younger Turner cast her a swift glance. "Yeah." He rubbed his hands together uncomfortably looking around, seeing most of the team far away. "I've never killed anyone," he said softly looking at the ground.

"The mission is to make a quick extraction, take the enemy by surprise and get the slaves. You are not killing anyone."

SHIELD had discovered the true business behind a transport company that worked for different organizations trafficking humans around the world. They had yet to unravel all of the companies working with the transport but had information about a new cargo moving from Southern Europe. Their mission was to retrieve the slaves and capture the people making the transport to get more information. They would enter by surprise and weren't expected to face resistance. SHIELD would work out the next steps of the operation after this mission.

"Is that why we doubled the ammunition at the last minute?" Rosemary sighed.

"Look, there may be a possibility that the company knew about this beforehand and that would explain the recent changes they have been making. But even if they are expecting us..." she paused trying to find the right words. "You don't have to kill anyone, you can just injure them, you know how.

But if you happen to be compromised, and it's your life or someone else's in danger...you may have to— It's not pretty, it will be hard at first but you must know you did it because you didn't have another choice and it was for good reason. Okay? This job comes with hardships like this but it is all for a better cause."

Finn took in her words, hesitating on asking the next question but deciding that they trusted each other enough. "How do you do it? I know you've—How do you keep going? I guess it gets easier with time but the first..."

"Well I—my situation was a lot different," she whispered not wanting anyone else to hear. "I wasn't doing it for a good cause, I was—"

"You had to," he assured her. "You were doing it for someone else, Rose."

"Still. Those people didn't deserve it, they had mothers too. Look, Finn, if you have to kill someone on this mission or another—which is most likely to happen— keep in mind that we are fighting for the bad guys to protect the little ones," she said, those words evoking memories of a certain friend. "And it will take something from you, but you need to know that you did it to save someone else, or yourself depending on the situation. Otherwise, it'll kill you."
