Invincible

There is an emotion

That is not yet listed

In that category

Everyone seems to feel it

At some point in their lives

It is felt at dances

As you gaze into your partner's eyes

Or simply when you're just with friends

So you dance all night

It is felt when loud music is played

As it electrifies your soul

It is called invincible

As sharp words empower me

I feel like I can do anything

Say anything to anyone

And when they throw the first punch

The feeling lights up inside of me

Like I will win and they'll be beat

But when I wake up in the morn

With a headache and a swollen eye

I crack up and laugh a little bit

Because the pain was worth the try...

Suddenly the next day

Everything looks the same

Everyone acts as if

Two nights ago did not exist

So now I've learned

With my swollen eye

A lesson that'll last me

Even though you feel invincible

Try not to act too hasty

Because people will just turn their heads

And act like they don't see you

I have to lie about my eye

They don't believe my story's true

So hours fade and so do days

And routine is already back in

And everybody's settled

Except for me that is

Because I can't help but feel

That I did something incredible

And though the memory prevails...

Now  I am invisible
