So I have finally decided what my new poem book is gonna be called...

Carved Into Me

Not bad. I have already started a first part for the book. It isn't published (so don't look for it just yet ;) but it will be once this book is completed. It is going to be much more musical so I hope you all like it even more than this one!

Also, a HUGE thank you to (guess who?) all of you fabulous readers! Most of my overall votes come from these poems (95 votes! Almost 100!) and you have no idea how encouraging that is. I love you all! (blows kisses)

Now... to the poem.

Searching through

A leather case

That holds the key

To my long lost hope

Whose scars belong

Carved into me.

Pictures reflect

The blending light

Into my eyes

So I can't see;

Now blindness is

Carved into me.

I hear the shouts

I hear the voices

Whispering

"You are worthless

You are nothing

You can not do

Anything for this world."

Those words echo

Through my state of silence,

Carved into me.

Do not scream.

Do not try to heal me.

You only rip apart the wounds

Carved into me.

What is this?

Soap?

Sanitizer?

Are you trying to kill me?

It burns!

It burns!

Why are you doing this?

Why can't I die?

NOW What are you doing?

Needle and thread?

Gauze?

What are you doing?

Are you... saving me?

You cannot take away these scars

These scars carved into me.

Why even bother?

I hear voice

Clear as crystal

Whispering

Ever

So

Softly.

"Because

My

Friend...

Those

Same

Scars

Were

Carved

Into

Me."
