The shadowy clouds began to merge together. The once brilliantly orange painted sky was firmly tucked behind the thick huddle of clouds. Portentous shadows soon melded with the darkness.

"Master, couldn't we have talked inside?" Kyo asked, puzzled.

"You know I feel lousy on days like this."

"My grandfather suffered the same way." Kazuma said "I heard he was often ill on rainy days. Because of the Cat Spirit?"

Kazuma glanced at Kyo's rosary, resting lightly on his wrist "Or is it the spirit of the true form that can't stand the rain?" He had a solemn look on his face. "It's about time you accept your true form.. Or you won't be able to move forward-"

"I do accept it!" Kyo yelled harshly. He clenched his fists firmly.

The rain began to drizzle from the shadowy clouds above, only adding to the ominous atmosphere.

"I accept that.. Being born with the Cat spirit meant my life was already over." Kyo muttered. "And that it's that rat--it's his fault. That he was the cause of all this!"

Yuki, from inside the house, gripped his arm. He stood still, his back behind his closed window shutters. He heard every word that was going on outside. He understood what it meant to be born with the rat spirit. The burdens and sins that have been passed down to him, he needed to carry it all.

Kazuma looked at him grimly. Kyo loved to blame everything on Yuki. He remembered a time when Kyo was a young boy. Enraged at the world and the life he was given. He detests so much; the cat spirit inside of him, his father, and himself. "It's all his fault! It's because of him!" little Kyo had roared infuriatingly "I'll kill him, then I'll die, too! Then you'll be satisfied, right?!" Kazuma placed his hands on young Kyo's shoulders to prevent him from doing anything out of line. He looked at him dolefully, how much pain is on this young boy's shoulders? How much burden and anguish is weighing his heart? "If I die, too, that'll satisfy you, right?!" young Kyo shouted in torment.

Kazuma knows what he needs to do. It eats at him from the inside. But he knows what must be done, in order to allow Kyo to lessen the great misery that keeps him from moving on. He shook his head, "You haven't changed. Do you plan to keep living this way?" he said with a melancholic air, gaze staring at the ground below him. "Plugging your ears, closing your eyes...Concealing everything beneath your hate for Yuki. Is that the only way you can sustain yourself?"

With every word, Kazuma felt his heart grow heavier and his stomach twinge. After this, Kyo might completely hate him. He might never smile ever again. Kazuma wanted the best for Kyo. He wanted to see him truly happy. Such a risk is necessary for a member of the zodiac. The mood inside the house wasn't any better than it was outside. Shigure sat in silence alone in his dark, messy office. Only the dim moonlight lit the somber room. He, too, knew what was going to happen. Tonight is the night that determines Kyo's future. Will he continue to run away, never having the courage to face what he fears most? Or will he give himself the chance to slowly emerge from his tightly locked cage. To gradually change into someone who can smile without any regrets. Kagura, upstairs, watched from a small peek in the window. She was riddled with guilt. She knew how horrifying Kyo's true form is. She can't help but worry if everything would work out the way Kazuma wants it to. She can only watch and see how everything roles out. She can't do anything to help.

"And then.. And then, you plan to die like this?" Kazuma said, finally looking up to see Kyo's upset face "All alone.. Like my grandfather." Kazuma remembers fragments of memories of his grandfather, who too was possessed by the cat spirit. He remembers how horrible it was. How he was concealed in a dark and lonely cage, despite being completely innocent. Being born with the Cat Spirit must've been a far greater sin, even if it can't be controlled. Kazuma's grandfather had extended his frail arm towards his grandson, offering a single meat bun. However, Kazuma stayed a good distance from this outcast.

He doesn't want Kyo to end up like his grandfather; stuck and stifled in a desolate cage left to die. In order to do that, Kyo needs to face the truth. Kazuma sees Kyo as his son. As an acting father, it's something he must do to help secure a future for Kyo.
