Your P.O.V:

"Are you sure you don't want to stay at my place tonight?" Dad asked as we pulled up to my apartment building. It was a very long stressful day and I want nothing more then to just crawl into my bed. "Yeah Dad I'm sure. Are you going to be ok?" I ask watching him put the car in park. "Yeah I'll be fine. I mean I would feel better if you stayed at my apartment so I can keep you safe, but your an adult and you have to make your own choices." Dad said concerned. I sigh and shook my head. "I'll be fine Dad I promise. My apartment has an automatic lock for the front door and there are security cameras ... I'll be fine." I try to reassure him but he still looks conflicted. "I'll tell you what, I'll text you when I get in ok?" I offer. "Yeah that would be great." He smiles a little. "Ok sounds good. Love you Dad. " I lean over giving him another big hug. "I love you too. You know, I worry because that's my job." He explains honestly. "I know, just like it's my job to. I take after you you know." I laugh a little warning a chuckle from him. We pull away to laugh a little more before I grab my bag and get out of the car. I turn back towards the car. Leaning down to see Dad. "Drive safe ok." "Oh I will." Dad smiled. We said our goodbyes then I closed the door. Once I got the main door open I turned around to wave one more time before he started up the car and drove off.

I still can't wrap my head around what happened today. It just feels like so much to process. I mean we hunted a maniac down, I had to step aside and watch my Dad dangling over certain death. Then I had to step in and complete a game to save Lucius and Dad. Talk about a stressful day at work. Hell I still feel some of the adrenaline running through me. I know that Gotham has many interesting crime cases and I know that this is what I signed up for when I became a detective, but when your family is threatened by your job it hits different. But everything turned out ok. No one died today. So I just need to focus on what happened instead of what could've happened. All I need is a nice hot bath and my warm cozy bed. I thought I myself making my way to my apartment door.

Sighing in relief knowing that I can finally relax. I make my way into my place. Turing around closing the door and putting the bolt on as well as the chain lock just like Dad asked earlier. I stop there for a moment to lead my head on the door. Sighing once more trying to leave all the stress at my door. Once I collect myself I pushed myself off the door. Heading towards my open kitchen a few steps away to put my things down on the counter. "Nice place you have here." A mans voice announced coming from behind me.

I froze in my place. Oh shit please tell me that's not who I think it is. I quickly turn around to see a silhouette of a man sitting in the corner of the dark living room, only illuminated by the street lights coming in through the window. "I like the way you decorated the place to. Comfy and elegant...I hope you don't mind I helped myself to a drink." The man stated picking up a glass from the end table taking a sip. I bolted for the door. Putting my fingers on the chain lock only to be stopped by the sound of a gun being loaded. "I wouldn't do that if I were you." I turned around to see the silhouette standing in front of me now. I slowly turned the lights on to find myself staring at Edward Nygma. Can't this guy just leave me alone. I've had enough of him today.

"Hello Y/n." He smiles and chuckles a little but my straight face doesn't change. "What? Not happy to see me?" He asks turning his head in a playful way. I'm so not in the mood for this. "What do you want?" I ignore his question with another. He looks down and chuckles before looking back up at me. "You weren't supposed to be at the event today." He took a few steps towards me. I looked down at the gun, not wanting it anywhere near me. I swallowed my fear and reply. "And if I wasn't then you would have killed Lucius and my Father." "You forgot all the academy graduates." "You and I both know that's not true. That toxic gas was just plain knockout gas. So why did you lie?" "The point wasn't to kill everyone. The point was to set a stage." "A stage? For what purpose?" "For Lucius to play my game!" He smiles wider stepping closer to me, making me back up against the front door. "I thought Foxy would have been the one." "Been the one for what?"
