Your P.O.V

I hastily make my through the GCPD building, trying to finish my duties on my shift before I head home. Oh my god today has been so fricken hectic! This is the second day in a row that Kristin didn't show up for work. That's definitely not like her but I hope she is ok, but holy moly Edd was right when he said that the filing room was unorganized. Maybe she just took a few days off and it didn't go through and she didn't know that. Oh well I'm sure it's nothing. The sooner she gets back the sooner I can leave her to her filing room and I can happily go back to working with Edd in the forensic room. And I really hope she is in tomorrow because I don't think I can take another day of this. I feel like I'm running around like a chicken with its head cut off. I guess that's what I get when I agree to do overtime. I wonder how Edd is doing. It's his day off the lucky guy. I wonder if Kristin didn't show on her weekend to work just to hang out with him. She is a very lucky girl to have a man like that. What I wouldn't give to have him look at me the way he looks at her.... Oh my god I have to stop thinking, it's just slowing me down and throwing me off track. I just need to give these papers to Lee and then I can go home thank God. I thought to myself making my way down the hall towards the morgue where a few people said she was there examining a body.

I get the morgue doors and hastily knock. "Lee it's Y/n. I have those papers I was talking about." I stated walking in to find no one in sight. Not even a dead body. Well she probably finished up examining the corpse and went to go look for me. But I'm not waiting around to run into her. Knowing my luck I'll be looking for her for an hour. I'll just leave them on her desk. I thought walking up to her desk. Setting them down beside her bag.... Wait that bag looks familiar. I lean forward to look closer. That's Edds work tool bag. That's odd.... Well maybe Edd let her borrow them. I mean it's none of my business. I say to myself trying to shake off a strange feeling I can't fully describe just yet. It feels like something is off but I'm sure it's just me being tired. I straighten my back after placing the papers down and start heading for the door. But stop when something else catches my eye.

One of the freezer slab doors were ajar. I just shook my head knowing how old these things are and how many times I've had to push all my body weight on it to close, and even then some times I would have to ask someone to slam against it to close it. It's just a normal occurrence here. Edd would always have to do it when we were following up on an analysis. Figuring that it was better if I did it now then to have Lee come back tomorrow and the body is starting to smell. I casually walked up to the door, grabbed the handle and was about to push it close when yet another thing caught my eye. As I was about to close it my eyes wandered towards the light in the freezer that was eliminating a foot. Looking a little longer I notice a familiar ankle tattoo of a butterfly. Where have I seen that tattoo before. Curiosity got the better of me as I found myself opening the door fully. One peek won't hurt, I mean it's apart of my job. I reassure myself contemplating going through with this. I take a deep breath and start to pull the body out. I gasp covering my mouth with my hands while my heart drops.

There on the slab is Kristin! With her eyes glossed over and the veins in her face were starting to go all blue and purple from the large handprint mark around her neck. I can't believe this! If she's dead and in the buildings morgue then why wasn't the staff told?! They always tell us! I started to back up from her body. This is all too much! She was my friend! We would always go shopping, and swimming a few times a month. She would always come over for wine and cheese and movie night. She would even run to my house to hide from her ex when she had the courage. I looked back down at her tattoo remembering her mentioning it at the pool, and how she could only get it there so her ex wouldn't get mad.... Wait a minute her foot doesn't have a tag. My heart started to pick up and so did my breathing. If Kristin doesn't have a tag then that means that no one has seen her body yet and if that's the case then how did she get here unseen? Unless someone brought her here with out anyone knowing. The thought sent shivers down my spine. The morgue door closed abruptly making me jump and turn around.

I quickly turned to see Edd leaning against the door looking at me. There was something wrong about his appearance. His hair was slightly messy along with his cloths being wrinkled like he slept in them. All while sporting a calm demeanour paired with a small smile. Not what I would expect when his girlfriend is on a body slab in front of us. "Edd what's going on? Edd what are you doing here?" I asked nervously and suspicious. "You know I was really wishing you didn't work today." He paused then continued. "You weren't supposed to be here and you weren't supposed to find her." He stated a little coldly but just for a moment. The he went back to being calm and relaxed. I was getting more and more uneasy by the minute. How is he being so calm right now?! His girlfriend is dead infront of him and he's relaxed! A chill ran down my spine when a terrible thought that was lingering a moment ago became clear in my mind. "You never answered my question." I asked cautiously as I started to back up." Edd looked down and smiled to himself. Seemingly amused by my statement, a few seconds later he stood but straight and started walking towards me as he stared me down. He was becoming very terrifying and intimidating giving that he was taller then me and his steps were matching mine perfectly. "I don't think I really have to. Your a smart girl. I think you figured it out. Or do you just want to hear me say what we both know happened?" He smirked as he took longer strides coming way closer then before. So much so that we were almost inches apart. I knew In my heart now that he killed her. And the worst part is that I caught him so I may be next. Just Run! I thought to myself before I bolted away from Edd, around the examining table and to the door. I could hear Edd's footsteps storming behind me. I got to the door. I reached for the door knob and went to go turn but Edd slammed his hand on the door. Keeping it shut with one hand and wrapped his other hand around my waist. Picking me up and dragging me back into the room.

"Where do you think your going? You know it was bad enough that I had to get Lee off my trail but it's too late for you." Edd stated trying to get a firm grip on me as I kick and scream for him to let me go. "Scream all you want Y/n no one can hear you. There's only the night shift in now, and there all on the top floor being debriefed for tonight." Edd said annoyed with my struggling. I kept trying to fight him but I was tiring out. It wasn't long before Edd got the upper hand and was able to push me down face first on the examining table. He quickly put my hands behind my back and held me there. I was still struggling. There was no way I was giving up, but in a position like that what could I do. My adrenaline was wearing off and the fear was setting in. My heart raced even faster then it already was when I heard Edd pulling and tugging on something. Please don't hurt me Edd please! I silently pleaded to him as he wrapped some type of soft fabric around my wrist, tying it tight. He then swiftly pulled me up off the table and spun me around to face him. I looked up at him in shock and fear. Never in my life would I have thought that he would ever do this. His expression went from annoyed to calm and focused while he fixed his suit. That's when I noticed that his tie was missed. Probably around my wrists no doubt. "Why?! ... Why did you kill her?!" I managed to whimper out. Hating myself for sounding so weak. I'm just so scared.
"It was an accident. But she just wouldn't listen! Then before I knew it she was gone." He explained pointing to her dead body. It took a few moments to gather my courage to speak. "I don't believe you." He laughs at my bravery. Once he is done he comes closer. Leaning both on his hands on both sides of me. Trapping me in even more. So much so that I could feel his hot breath on my skin. "It doesn't matter if you believe me even though it's the truth. But I'll tell you something else. From the time of killing her to now, it felt absolutely thrilling, and ... beautiful." He states with a sadistic smile. "Now the real mystery is what to do with you?" He glides his finger along my cheek down to my chin. "Please don't hurt me" I plead, turning my face to the other side not want him to touch me at all. He grabs my chin forcing me to look at him. "Now Y/n, you know I can't promise you that."
