"No!" I yelled. "This has to be a dream." "Well, it's not!" He screamed out of anger. "Everything was normal two hours ago" I explained. He walked up to my cage and kneeled to my height. "What did you do with that phone earlier today?" He asked. "I don't know!" I cried. "I just pulled it out and it started glitching out of nowhere!." He looks at you, unamused, and says with confidence, "you and I both know that's not true." I open my mouth in protest but realize I have nothing to say against him.

"He thinks you're insane," I told myself. "You have to believe me, I have no idea what is going on" I exclaimed. He rolls his eyes and crunches back up to leave the fort. "Now I have to fortify the entrances to make sure that no one else like you enters the building." He mumbles. "Can I help you?" I ask. He turns around and gives me an offended look. "Why would you want to help me?" He said. "I'm holding you hostage and just interrogated you."

I look down at my lap and take a deep breath "I just need some evaluation." I exhaled. He sighs and walks over to my cage. I start to smile as he digs into his pockets for the keys to the cage. "I'm letting you come with me," he says. "As long as you're cuffed to me." He pulls out the keys and crunches back down. "Do we have a deal?" He asked. I nod aggressively to express my excitement to leave this tiny cage.

He takes the keys and picks up the locks. I get up from my lap and run to the door. He picks the lock and I run out feeling liberated and boundless. He quickly grabs my arm and turns me around. "You're not going anywhere," he says in an intimidating voice. He pushes me toward him. His grip felt so strong I almost tripped on a wire while he was dragging me.

He brought me over to a table. He opened one of the drawers and brings out the handcuffs, then closes the drawer. He cuffed his right hand and he cuffed my left hand. "Come on," he said. "We have work to do." We walk out of the self-checkout fort together and the main entrance was right in front of us. We start walking to the doors and I grab a bottle of soda from the fridge. "So what are we going to do?" I inquired while popping the cap open. He stops walking and quickly puts on a thinking face. "I'm... not sure.." he says.

After a few seconds of an awkward moment of silence, I burst out laughing, startling him. "What's so funny?" He asks. "It's just that, you had Dixie Damelio evict you from your house and you built a fort in less than two hours." I chuckled. "you're joking, right?" He sucks in his lips and says, "no..." Another moment of silence occurs, this time much longer.

I grab a soda for him to try and break the silence. He snatches the bottle from my hand and twists the bottle around to analyze it. He opens up the soda and raises his bottle. I raised my bottle to him and I say, in an awkward voice, "cheers?" He bumps his bottle into mine but he bumped his bottle a little harder, so he spilled some soda on my shirt. "Aw, you got my shirt wet," I whine. "I just bought this last week." "Oh, I'm sorry," he says in a nonchalant tone.

I look at him awkwardly once more as He put his bottle on top of the fridge and digs into his pockets. He brings up the keys and picks them up in the keyhole. We are set free from each other. I shake off my cuff and it crashes onto my bare feet. He grabs his bottle and walks away to the back of the store. "I think we might be the only ones seeking refuge in a Walmart," he said while walking away. "So we don't need to fortify the doors."

Wait!" I yell. He stops and turns his neck around. "Can I come with you?" I ask. "No." He made it clear. "I need to talk to someone." I say. "We can talk later" he shrugs, "Didn't you only get 2 hours of sleep?" I shrug and turn the other way and walk over to the pillows in the store. I made myself a DIY mattress. It was the most comfortable thing I've ever laid in, so I fell asleep within minutes.

I woke up in an empty, white field that looked like a salt lake to me. there was nothing over the horizon and the floor was practically a mirror. I started to panic but then I see a blue haze over my head. I run away in fright that it might explode, but then the light fades and a mysterious object lands on the floor. I walk over there with caution and see that it's just the phone I stole from dixie.

another blue haze, yet this one more powerful appears over my head. I take a few steps back knowing what's going to happen. the light implodes and Noah Beck plummets to the ground. I walk over to him and poke him to verify his consciousness. he raises his head and looks at me with an angry expression and glowing white eyes. I trip and crawl away, then he approaches me and I start to scream.

I wake up, hyperventilating just as he grabs me and looks around me. "That felt too real to be a dream." I check the time, and it's 2:00 pm. I get up as soon as I can and exit the fort "that's enough sleep for me, I guess" I said as I walked over to the produce section. I open up a box of protein bars with 0 guilt. I take a bite while I enter another aisle, but I am met with more people sitting in a circle.
