꧁✰𐬼𐬽𐬼𐬽𐬼𐬽𐬼𐬽𐬼𐬽𐬼𐬽✰꧂It was late on a cold winters night and a mother lifted her crying baby from the crib humming a lulaby that always lulled the child to sleep. "Спи моя милая, крошечная ( Sleep my darling, tiny one)." She sang sofly. " Так плотно спрятан в твоей постели... (Tucked within your bed so tight)" Kissing the childs forehead she walked to the rocking chair in the corner.
Sitting down she held her daughter in her arms and watched as the baby begain to fall asleep. " Иначе старый серый волк придет и схватит тебя рядом ( Else the ol' grey wolf will come and grab you by your side )" She continued slightly brushing the baby's small hair out if her face. "Он схватит тебя между зубами ( He'll snatch you up between his teeth.) " The mother watched as the baby's cries stoped and she began to fall asleep.
" Если на краю кровати ты спишь ( If on the bed's edge you sleep.) И затащить тебя в лес глубоко ( And drag you in the forest deep.)" The mother rocked the baby and soon her eyes fell closed. " Под дрожащим деревом ( Beneath the quaking tree )" When she was sure the baby was in a deep enough sleep, the mother stood and carefully walked back to the crib.
" Так закрой глаза и засни ( So close your eyes, and fall asleep ) " She layed the sleeping baby in the crib and watched carefully as the baby stirred in her sleep slightly. " Считайте маленьких шерстистых овец ( Count the little woolly sheep )" The mother hummed before leaning over to kiss her daughter goodnight.
The mother turned and started walking to the door. " Так плотно спрятан, ты должен держать ( Tucked so tightly you must keep )" She sang turning once again to see her sleeping baby. " Или он придет ... ( Or he will come...) " She whiped a tear that fell. " Для тебя ( For you...)". She walked out and closed the door.
Walking out of the room to meet with her husband and their guests she tried her best to compse herself. " Мы вернемся. Не позднее, чем через три года. ( We will return. No later than three years from now. )" The older woman said. " Если ее здесь нет или вы попытаетесь удержать ее от нас, последствия будут неприятными. ( If she is not here, or you try to keep her from us, the consequences will be unpleasant.)" The woman stated then turning to the man.
He spoke to her in a language the couple couldn't understand. But the older woman told them what the man had said. " Ждем ежемесячных пожертвований, господин Кошкин. Не предай нас. ( We will expect monthly donations, Mr. Koshkin. Don't betray us.) " She spoke then they left without another word.
The mother cried and sobbed but her husband cared less. When the baby awoke and cried again, he shouted at her to put the baby back to sleep. Still in tears she walked back to the baby's room and began to hum the tune and sing the lullaby to the baby once more.

I woke up from another nightmare. I couldn't remember what happened but either way I was up now. I sat up and looked over seeing Natasha sleeping. I decided to go clear my head, leaning over I kissed her shoulder then left the room closeing the door behind me. I carefully walked down the hall and down the stairs to the kitchen.
I opened a cabnet and started filling a glass with water. I looked at a clock and it was around 4:16 am. I rubbed my tierd eyes and looked out the widow at the dark sky. I heard a small yawn from behind me. I quickly turn and saw Lila in her nightgown rubbing her own eyes. I walk over to her and kneel to her leval. " Lila, what are you doing awake?" I ask.
She yawns again before answering. " I was thristy." she says in her tierd voice, which was too pure and innocent. I smiled and gave her what would have been my glass and watched her drink. When she was done I stood and placed the glass in the sink and looked back to see Lila with her arms reached out twords me.
I went to pick her up and as soon as I did she went numb. She laid her head on my shouler and one arm around me. I just stood there and watched her. I decided to take her back to bed and doing so I thought I would hum a little lullaby. I decided to sing in russian, because I didn't want the words to scare her. " Спи моя милая, крошечная ( Sleep my darling, tiny one)." I sing softly, trying not to wake up any one else. " Так плотно спрятан в твоей постели... (Tucked within your bed so tight)"
I turned to walk up the stairs and down the hall. " Liana? Do you love Auntie Nat?" Her quiet voice asked. I was taken back by the question but answerd anyway. " Ever since we met, I've loved her." I continue humming. " Иначе старый серый волк придет и схватит тебя рядом ( Else the ol' grey wolf will come and grab you by your side )"
"Liana?" Lila's quiet voice asks again. " Yes?" She yawns a little before speaking. " Can I call you autie too?" She asks. I smile softly " If that's what you want, then yes." I answer openig her door. "Он схватит тебя между зубами ( He'll snatch you up between his teeth.) " I walk in and pull back the blanket before laying Lila down far enough from the edge for her saftey.
She turns to her side facing me and cuddleing her pillow. " Если на краю кровати ты спишь ( If on the bed's edge you sleep.) И затащить тебя в лес глубоко ( And drag you in the forest deep.) Под дрожащим деревом ( Beneath the quaking tree )" I pull the blanket over her small body and she asks another question. " Auntie Liana?" Ske asks useing the new title. I smile once more. " Yes, Lila." She once again yawns. " If you and Auntie Nat get married, can I throw the flowers?" She asks. I was confused on why she wanted to throw flowers but answerd. " Yes, you can." She smiles satisfied.
" Так закрой глаза и засни ( So close your eyes, and fall asleep ) Считайте маленьких шерстистых овец ( Count the little woolly sheep )..." I stop singing seeing Lila asleep peacefully. I stand and turn faceing the door and there was Natasha. " I thought you were asleep." I say. " Well I woke up hearing you singing so I thought I'd find out why." She says as I walk out of the room to let Lila sleep.
" Did I do something wrong? " I ask worried. She smiles. " No." She says placeing her hands on my shoulders. " C'mon, I don't like sleeping in a cold bed." She says leading us back to our room. When we lay down again I am still curious about why Lila would want to throw flowers so I ask Natasha. " Why would Lila want to throw flowers?" I ask and Natasha laughs. " She wants to be the flower girl." She explains.
