3 months before THE birthday:Roxy's pov:
Let me tell you, waking up whenever I want, because I don't have to go to school, is like being a princess. To be honest, I am a princess, but a mafia princess.
It's still hard to understand some things and the closer my birthday is, the more I'm scared that I will fail. I already tried to convince my parents that I'm not good for this, that Johnny would be better or why not Cerelia?! But dad's answer is always: " The tradition of our mob is that, after a man has to take over a woman and then a man again, and Cerelia isn't strong enough to take over the mob." I checked out the woman - man thing, and it's not true. The Cerelia thing, is true because, yeah she does know how to fight and use a gun and everything, but it's just for self defense, so she couldn't take over.
I don't understand. She was here her whole life, she could learn everything for 18 years, but no, they say they will teach me everything in a year and I will be stronger than her! Bullshit!!!
Papa trusts me and the same with my siblings, but I already had four breakdowns this week and it's just Tuesday.
Then there is the marriage. I didn't fell in love with anybody, yet. I didn't had time for that. It's true that I met some of my siblings friends, but it wasn't it. I still have a month, but I thought about it and probably it's gonna be better if I'll get married to someone who is already in this mafia thing and who can lead the mafia with me.
It's 2 pm and I have to get out of my bed, because I'm meeting Johnny's best friend. I asked about him a lot when my brother said he is coming. Apparently his name is Lucas Xiomar, but they call him Luca, he is 19 and he and my siblings grew up together and he was going to be Johnny's right hand man if he was going to be the leader. He left for Australia, just before I came here, because of some business my dad gave him. I asked Lia too, but when I mentioned his name she was like: "Oh my goodness he is coming back? Oh hell nah! I won't talk to him ever again!" Then she disappeared for five hours and came back drunk. Maybe they had something together. Who knows.
I got out of the shower and went to my closet. As much as I love my sweatpants, I have to start wearing something more elegant. At least that's what mama says.
I tried on a light pink dress that ended just above my knees, but there is no way that I will wear this and just for a boy, so after 30 long minutes of just looking in the mirror I changed in something more comfortable for me: Jeans!
Twenty minutes later:
Here I am, standing in front of the driveway with a grumpy Lia and a happy Johnny.
"Two more minutes and if he isn't going to show up I'm going back in!" Lia said louder than my sports car. I kinda jumped at her high voice and looked at her like at a ghost.
"Ahh." Johnny rolled his eyes. " It wasn't his fault that he shot you Lia. It was an accident. Get over it." Johnny tried to be calm but Lia laughed hysterically and shouted even louder than before.
"I don't care Johnny! It hurt like hell!" She fake cried and I rolled my eyes at her childishness. And then i realised. "Johnny!" I screamed in his face. "What!" He screamed back.
"You're best friend shot my little innocent sister!"
"Rox, It was an accident!" Rox. Really?
"I don't care I will kill him anyway and you better stop calling me Rox before I chop your dick off!"
"You wouldn't dare?!"
Before I could answer him, a black Rolls-Royce pulled up in our driveway and a brown haired man got out of it. He walked over to us with his perfect bouncing curls and dark brown eyes. If I wouldn't be mad at him I would say he is a Greek god.
"She isn't that innocent you think she is, darling." He said with a proud smirk on his face.
"Wha-?" I looked at him confused, then at my brother, but he was looking somewhere into the distance with the same grin like Lucas.
"It's called earpiece, darling." Luca answered, his face dangerously close to mine.
"If you call me darling once again I swear to go-!"
"Then what?" He cut me off. "Darling." He added getting closer to my face.
I got a little uncomfortable and I think he realised, because his grin grew.
I hate him!
I hate him so so so much!
