Later that night, Hinata and Kageyama were both sitting on Kageyama's bed, trying to finish their homework and get some sleep. Kageyama was quiet as usual, while Hinata was muttering loopily from sleep deprivation. Kageyama looked up from his paper for the first time in hours, "Are you okay?"

"Hm? Oh yeah I'm just really tired." Hinata gave Kageyama a sleepy smile.

"How many questions do you have left?" Kageyama asked, putting his pencil down.

"Five."

"Oh, well I'm finished." Kageyama told the former ginger. He looked back down at his papers and placed them back into his bag. While Hinata continued his homework and muttered to himself.

"Oh yeah cause you're so smart. Tobio Kageyama with the perfect sets and nice blue eyes..."

Kageyama looked back up to his teammate, "...You like my eyes?"

"What?" Hinata looked dumbfounded, he didn't realize that his words were said aloud.

"You said I have 'nice blue eyes.'"

"Are you really going to believe my words at..." Hinata checked his phone, "2:45 in the morning?"

Kageyama squinted, "I mean blue is your favorite color right?"

Hinata sighed, "Yeah but-"

"Mine's orange." Kageyama said with certainty.

"Like Nishinoya's jersey?" Hinata asked.

"No... like a tangerine kind of orange."

Both of the boys stayed quiet for a few seconds before Hinata moved closer to Kageyama and soon they were connected at the lips.

+One Week Later+

"Damn. This place is a maze." Kuroo looked forward to the different hallways and rooms that lined them through the sea of prisoners. The group of volleyball players had found themselves inside of the Cochlea Facility. Aogiri Tree had infiltrated the prison and the ghouls from Anteiku were hoping to find Kaneki Ken in the crossfire.

Though, currently it was just a process of searching for him while trying to not get lost. "Tetsu and I will go look that way," Kenma pointed down one of the many hallways that was filled with escaping ghouls, "Tobio, you go with Shoyo the other way."

Kageyama and Hinata both nodded before turning towards the hallway that Kenma had pointed to. Before the group separated, however, one of the prisoners stopped as he passed them, "Your name is Shoyo?"

"Why do you care?" Kageyama put his arm out in front of Hinata.

"There's a really young inmate- she's always talking about how 'Shoyo will find her.'" The inmate explained

"Does she have ginger hair?!"

"Yeah."

"Where's her cell!" Hinata wasn't asking.

The prisoner pointed down one of the many hallways and Hinata immediately started to run in that direction.

"Chibi-Chan! Where the hell are you going?!" Kuroo asked.

"It's Natsu. I know it!" Hinata paused, "I need to get my sister back."

Kageyama speed-walked over to Hinata, "I'm coming with you. We'll meet back up at the rendezvous point."

With that, the team separated, Kuroo and Kenma going to find other members of Anteiku and Kaneki, and Hinata and Kageyama going to find Natsu.

---

Hinata and Kageyama ran down another hallway, still in the direction where the inmate had pointed. They looked in almost every cell trying to find Natsu, but kept coming up empty handed. "Hinata, we should head back now."

"No! Not until I find her!" Hinata was getting desperate. He needed to find his sister, he had to.

Hinata went to another cell and busted down the door with his kagune. As soon as the door was open he heard a scream. A familiar scream. Though it wasn't the one that he would hear when he would chase after his sister with a water gun, it was one full of fear.

Hinata threw off his orange-feathered mask as he knelt to the ground to calm his little sister, "Hey... Hey. Natsu-"

"Get off! Please! I didn't do anything wrong!" Hinata wrapped his arms around a shaking Natsu.

"Natsu it's me!" Hinata looked her in the eyes.

She finally stopped shaking, his words finally broke through her fear, "S- Shoyo?"

"Yeah- Yeah, it's me!" She wrapped her arms around Hinata's neck. Hinata lifted her off the ground, grabbing his orange mask with his only free hand. He walked over to Kageyama, "You remember Kageyama right?" Natsu nodded. "Alright, he's going to get you out of here while I go find mom, okay?"

Natsu nodded again as she moved into Kageyama's arms, "Natsu, do you know where mom is?"

"T- They took her to the lower levels. They didn't like her protecting me." Hinata nodded, he hugged both of them.

"Hinata, be careful." Kageyama told him. Hinata adorned his mask again and nodded.

"I'll be fine. Just get her out of here." Hinata then left the cell and ran down the hallway. Away from the exit.

---

Hinata walked down multiple different landings and bridges as he entered the lower sections of Cochlea. He looked around every cell for his mother, though still came up empty handed. Now, Hinata was honestly considering if his mother was dead. But he didn't want to say it out loud.

Though, as fate would have it, Hinata finally reached the bottom where he saw Kaneki fighting some of the guards. In the corner surrounded by other ghouls was his mother, begging to survive. Hinata jumped over the semi-circle of ghouls and unleashed his kagune to put a barrier between the ghouls and his mother.

His mother was screaming in fear as the ghouls all converged on Hinata. He jumped over most of the ghouls, knocking them unconscious by colliding into each other. Hinata grabbed his mother with one of his kagune tentacles and lifted her above the crowd.

He ran up to one of the higher bridges and down a hallway before letting her go. She was still screaming as Hinata put his arms on his shoulders. Her voice got tired as Hinata shushed her. Hinata whispered just in case the cameras had audio, "Natsu is waiting outside for you. Calm down, mom. Please."

"...Shoyo?"
