Ariana POV:

I flinched slightly when a jumpscare happened.

Dalton and I were cuddling up together on our bed watching IT Chapter 2. It was about 11:30 at night and we had just finished dinner and sent Y/N off to sleep. I was about to grab my glass of water when a soft knock came at the door. 

"It's open." I called.

Y/N slowly creaked the door open and slouched in, yawning. 

"Hey baby, what are you doing up? It's late." I asked, scanning her tired face.

She stretched her arms and sat on the floor, leaning her head against the bed. I raised an eyebrow and ran my fingers through her soft hair. 

"I was sleeping, but your movie woke me up, and now I can't fall back asleep." Y/N said, dragging her words.

I sighed and moved over on the bed, opening the blanket so she could hop in. She crawled onto the mattress and under the blanket, resting her head on my pillow. I pulled her close to me, rubbing her shoulder, and focused my attention back to the movie. 

Time Skip

We were at the part where the little boy was in the mirror maze when Y/N started whimpering. I looked down to see her shivering and crying into the pillow. Gasping slightly, I pulled her into my lap and stroked her hair. 

"Shhhhh, it's ok honey, I'm right here." I said softly, rubbing in between her shoulder blades. 

"M-mommy, it's too scary." She said, sobbing into my shirt. 

I looked at Dalton, pleading for him to end the movie. He immediately grabbed the remote and turned the TV off.

"It's ok Y/N, it's gone. The movie is gone." Dalton said, grabbing her hand. 

Soon her crying stopped, and she snuggled into my warmth. I let out a breath of relief and turned onto my side. Dalton laid behind her and wrapped his arms around us. Y/N sighed and curled up into my chest. 

"Goodnight mom, night dad." She mumbled, drifting off to sleep.

"Goodnight baby, sweet dreams." I said, running my hand through her wavy hair. 

"Yeah goodnight Y/N, you are such a trooper." Dalton grinned and kissed her forehead.

From now on, we won't watch horror movies when Y/N is home.
