Y/N Age: 16
Ariana POV:
I smiled as I threw a tennis ball to my daughter.
It was a peaceful Thursday afternoon in the summer and Dalton, Y/N, and I decided to hang out in the backyard and enjoy the weather. I caught the fuzzy green ball and tossed it to my husband, glancing at Y/N.
Both of us have noticed that she has been very happy, content, and relaxed lately. Not that I'm saying she never is or that I don't want her to be, it's just that I've never seen her seem so bright. Dalton and I have come to wonder if she is hiding something from us; a boy or girl, perhaps.
"Hey bubs, cmere." I said, resting my hand on her shoulder.
She turned to me with a curious expression, "Hm?"
I smiled and gestured her over to the bench to sit down. As soon as we did she scooted closer to me and took my hand in hers, sensing my nervous state and trying to calm me down. Dalton came over and sat down on her other side, watching me as if to say 'Go ahead'.
"We need to talk to you about something baby." I said, pecking her cheek.
"What is it?" She asked cheerfully, making me relax more.
I took a deep breath and looked at Dalton, who nodded at me encouragingly.
"Me and you father have noticed that you've been, different. Is there something you would like to tell us?"
Y/N shifted in her seat and sighed, pulling her hand from mine to fiddle with the hem of her shirt.
"Yeah, there is something." She said, staring at the ground.
I subconsciously rubbed her shoulder while Dalton patted her back.
"See, there is this....boy, that I've been hanging out with. He's really nice and we both have a lot in common!"
My eyebrows were in my hairline and Daltons face was expressionless.
"Who is he and when did this happen." He stated, watching her every move.
"His name is classified and he asked me to try a relationship a month and a half ago."
"A month and a half?! Classified?!" I shout as she stood up and grabbed her water bottle.
"Yep, and for good reasons."
"What kind of reasons?! We are your parents!" Dalton yelled, standing up with me.
"Because of this!" She yelled back, glaring at us, "I was scared to tell you because you are just going to scream and get mad! It's not fair to me!"
"We only got mad because you didn't tell us and you are to young!" Dalton said, taking a step towards her, only for her to take a step back.
"I'm not a little kid, Dad." She growled, "I'm 16, going on 17 in 3 weeks and I've never, EVER, had a boyfriend before. I wanted to try this!"
My face softened and I reached out to her only to be intervened by my husband.
"Go to you room." He said with his head in his hands.
Y/N looked between him and me with a shocked expression, her mouth hanging open slightly. She met my eyes but I turned away, staring at the floor. Her eyes fell and the next thing I knew she was running away and upstairs to her room.
I watched as she went away, a tear sliding down my cheek.
"We did to much D."
Time Skip
I rocked on my feet as we waited for the doorbell to ring.
Three days ago Y/N/N told us she had a boyfriend and we got mad at her for it. Fortunately she forgave us and agreed to introduce him so we could meet and have dinner together. I was about to ask again if he was coming when a knock came from the door.
"He's here!" Y/N cheered, running to the door.
Me and Dalton patiently waited in the living room, me shifting nervously while Dalton bounced his knee. I heard footsteps and looked up to see my daughter and a mysterious boy walking in. Both of us stood up and I immediately looked him up and down.
(A pic cause dis what he look like just with curlier hair and glasses)
"Mom, Dad. This is Max, my boyfriend." Y/N said, holding his hand.
He nodded and gave a small wave, "Hi, you must be Mr. Gomez and Mrs. Grande. It's nice to meet you."
I smiled at his politeness and shook his outstretched hand. "You too, Y/N has told us a lot about you."
Max grinned sheepishly and turned to Dalton, who was as still as stone. Y/N must have noticed because she rolled her eyes and clapped her hands in his face.
"Oh, sorry. It's nice to meet you too Max, I hope you are treating my daughter well." He said sternly, shaking his hand swiftly.
"Always sir, I love her." Max said, smiling at Y/N who blushed.
I laughed lightly and hurried everyone into into the dining room so we could eat. Dinner went well and Max even stayed to watch a movie with us. I was watching them the whole time as they were cuddled up together, looking like love struck teenagers, which they were.
I sniffled and hugged Daltons arm tightly with my body.
"What's wrong baby." He asked softly, trying not to disturb the sleeping teenagers.
"Our baby is all grown up Dal! Where did the time go." I whisper-cried.
"I know, I wonder that too. But I know that she will grow to be just like you. Strong, independent, beautiful, and passionate."
I smiled at his words and kissed his lips gently. I glanced at Y/N again and smiled, happy that she found someone to love her to the fullest.
Awww
I love this.
