Age: 13
Y/N POV:
I carefully carried the large purple flower down the hall, trying not to break the plastic seal on it.
See, I was carrying a lisianthus, which was a stunning purple flower that I was very allergic to, so allergic that even the smell will send me into anaphylactic shock.
My English teacher, Ms. Grunwald, really likes lisianthus's and every year on Mother's Day I bring in a flower for every female teacher I have. I asked her the other day what kind of flowers she liked and she said,
"I only like one flower and that is lisiansthus."
I also remember asking if she had any others that she may like but she refused and said it was just the one. So my plan was to give her the sealed flower and ask her not to open it until school is over.
I hurried into the classroom and set the flower down on her desk. She looked at the flower and then peered up at me with her thin glasses.
"A lisianthus?" She said, questioning me.
"Yeah it is and I hope you enjoy it but," I said, twirling my fingers.
She raised an eyebrow at me, "But what."
"I'm allergic to them. Like deathly allergic, and I sealed the flower off completely so it won't bother me. But please don't open it until the end of school, I don't want my allergies to act up."
She squinted at me but nodded, shooing me away with her hand. I shuffled to my desk and sat down, pulling out my binders. The lesson was going great until my ADHD caught Ms. Grunwalds attention.
"Miss Grande!"
I snapped my head up to the board, confused.
"Are you paying attention?" Ms. Grunwald asked.
"Yes ma'am." I said, sitting up straighter.
"No, you aren't. You are bouncing your leg up and down and you are just staring at your paper!"
"I'm sorry miss but I can't help it, it's my AD-"
"Shut up!" She yelled, making me flinch. "Just because your mom is a famous pop singer or whatever, doesn't mean you get privileges in my class! Now pay attention or I will fail you!"
I nodded feverishly and put my head down. Out of the corner of my eye I see Ms. Grunwald reach up and rip open the plastic on the flower. I internally gasp and hold my breath, not wanting to go into shock.
Soon it was getting hard to hold my breath and I gave up, letting out an exasperated sigh. I sucked in fresh air and immediately caught wind of the lisianthus perfume.
Instantly I started hyperventilating and I felt my airway close up. My vision started to get blurry and a headache was forming in my scull. I dropped from my chair and started shaking on the ground. I heard people gasp, some saying to call the nurse or the police. Soon, everything was black.
Time Skip
I woke up slowly, squinting at the bright light. I sat up and rubbed my eyes, looking around. I was in what seemed to be a hospital room, with IV monitors and everything.
"I don't care if it's a big school Dalton, they fucking put my kid in danger!"
I looked at the doorway and say my parents arguing profusely about something. Ariana seemed mad and Dalton seemed scared and hesitant. I saw another man, who I recognized as the school nurse and relaxed, realizing I was still at school.
"Mom?" I said, wanting to stop her yelling.
She immediately turned around and ran at me.
"Y/N you are awake thank god! I was so worried about you baby!" She said, planting kisses all over my face.
I sighed and leaned into her warm, motherly touch. She hugged me and rested my head on her shoulder. Dalton came over and hugged both of us tightly, making sure we are safe.
"Baby I'm so glad you are alright, but what happened?" Ariana asked, cupping my cheeks.
"The lisianthus was opened." I said softly, snuggling deeper into her grip.
My mother's face darkened and she looked straight at Dalton, who was just as mad.
"By who." She stated, not breaking eye contact with my father.
"Ms Grunwald-"
She got up, my dad on her trail. She grabbed her keys and her purse and came back to get me. She gently got me on my feet and took my hand in hers. Dalton had his phone and his bag on him.
"Ready?" My mom asked him.
"Yep. Let's sue some aged ass."
