3rd Person POV
Disciples were watching their master with awe and proud gazes . Mentally taking notes how their Shizun was dealing with the Water Abyss. Suddenly someone saw the compass showing at another direction, meaning more water ghost could be present in that direction. So , they immediately went there .
A disciple was about to kill the water ghost but A'Tong , the head disciple stopped him . Before he could tell why he stopped her their Shizun was already there .
People present there were all immersed by his speed . They also followed Flute Master .
One of the disciple came forward before their Shizun could ask and said
" Shizun there are two water ghosts here . But they did not even try to led the center like other."
Su She mokingly asked " What? You all came here and are afraid to kill a water ghost yourself ?" And laughed at them . Such shameless man . Even if they helped him to get his sword back , now he was laughing at them .
Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes . He really finds this guy very annoying . 'May bei I really should have let him drown .' he thought in his privacy of mind . Well no one could blame him .
The Lans were no better . They were really feeling embarrassed because of him. Where were the Lan manners and behaviour now ?
But taking no offense a younger disciple came forward and explained
" Young master , actually it looks like a body is there underwater and the water ghost is protecting something."
Flute Master nodes at his disciple and further added that " The plants and moss seems lifeless ."
"How are they related ?" Lan Xichen enquiried looking at man with mask .
" The water ghost seems like it's trying to keep the person alive by pushing life force absorbed from plants into him . The side plants and moss are all dead as you can see . And the colour of water seems different than other parts. Then these water ghost also didn't try to pull everyone towards center" Flute Master told .
Then he just just called two disciples names and they knew what their Shizun wanted. One of them immediately drew a spell . Once again the blue strings appeared and dragged the water ghost .
Then the other disciple jumped into water . Soon he came out with two children . One was around 4-5 years old . An infant child was tied with a cloth around her. Everyone were shocked.
They immediately checked their breathing and pulse while the two water ghosts were recklessly trying to get free . But after a while when they noticed that the children were not hurt by the disciples, the struggle stopped .
Thankfully one of the disciple soon said
" They are alive . "
The disciples were already giving spiritual energy and medicine to the child . Flute Master turned his gaze towards those two Water Ghosts .
"Are you their parents ?" he asked calmly .
Everyone gasped at the possibility . Two parents turned into water ghosts and tried to save their children . But it made perfect sense why they didn't attach their children and were trying to save them .
The water ghosts nodded . Most of them were speechless.
But how resentment energy and ghost protect something?
"The way you didn't try to push them out of water to save them , I assume you have you don't have relatives looking for you when you go missing ." he concluded .
Again the water ghost nodded. This time everyone was speechless .
He walked towards Lan Xichen .
"Master Lan , can we let them go for now . They have not harmed anyone . The children's health is not very good . Without seeing their children are fine they won't be able to get rest in peace. After they get well then they can go into reincarnation cycle peacefully. " he requested .
Su She immediately argued . The water ghosts groaned towards him . Flute Master secretly rolled eyes . But Lan Wangji caught it . He felt Flute Master already had a bad impression on him when he mocked his disciple .
"Brother we should wait ." Lan Wangji said .
Lan Xichen was surprised that his brother said that . He thought maybe his brother would not agree to delay their mission. But of course he was happy. He nodded his head and gave permission.
