Later that day, I nervously approached Samantha.
"Hey," I said awkwardly.
"Hi," she responded casually as if nothing happened.
"I realize now that we would be better as friends..." I said slowly.
"Yeah, I should've told you that I was gay. I noticed you staring at me two days ago," she said confidently without a hint of hesitation.
I immediately turned red, "So, does that mean we can be friends?" I asked.
"Of course," she shrugged. "You saved me from Jaymz, and I can't be more grateful for that."
We ended up being good friends. She thought that I interrupted and made a move to save her, when in reality, I had spilled out one of my deepest secrets. Still, I can't complain. At least I'm in some sort of relationship with her, and that's what matters.
