Spencer's POV
LA NIGHTS"Is this what being a pro athlete is like?" Dillon asks as he looks at the watches on the table. "This is some serious king shit!"
I laugh. "No little boy! It's very hard work."
"So getting free cars and jewelry is hard work? Where do I sign up?" He asks sarcastically.
"It's cool, but this stuff comes at a price. A very big price. You see, I'm missing Liv's biggest evening in New York to be here. But because I signed this contract, I had to miss it."
"Give her a Rolex!" He says and I laugh.
"That's an option, but when you meet a girl like Liv, you'll know that a Rolex doesn't mean shit to her. She'd much rather have my time. I'll make it up to her though."
"And that's a wrap!" The director says as everyone begins to clap.
My first official commercial is complete and I couldn't be more proud.
"Thank you to everyone who made this happen." I say before we begin to leave.
I ride through the old neighborhood before stopping past my old high school. Dillon runs some routes and we laugh on old times.
"You know if I played football, I would've shattered you and pops' school touchdown record by now." Dillon shit talks all the way home.
We walk inside and my mom is setting the table.
"Wash up, Dill! Time to eat." She says before kissing me on my cheek.
"You didn't have to cook. I told you, I would buy dinner."
She chuckles. "And I told you I don't need you to buy me dinner million dollar man."
"Mom, stop!"
"I'm serious. Dillon's been on IG live all day showing his little friends how his big brother has Rolexes and catered food." She says and I laugh.
"He's a trip."
"And, I've been meaning to personally thank you for the, not one, but two Chevrolets that you had sent here." She says humbly.
"They sent me like five when I signed the deal. I figured Dillon needed his first whip too." I shrug.
"Well, Dillon and I thank you."
"Mom, stop! I got your ten text messages last week! Besides, I could never repay you for all the sacrifices you made for me growing up."
"Well, I just want to make sure you know how much I appreciate you. And I also hope you never forget how much I love you."
"What you talking about, Ma?" I ask.
"I don't know. I thought I'd be able to adjust to this." She says shyly. "I see that big ol' house and those nice things and it scares me a lot. I feel like I'm losing the kind, sensitive and extremely sweet little boy I raised."
I walk over and hug her tightly. "That can never be true. I'll always be that little boy you raised."
She blushes when I kiss her cheek.
"You're such a mamas' boy!" Dillon jokes as he rushes back into the kitchen. "Mom, can I eat in my room? I need to call my ladies."
She just rolls her eyes as he makes his plate and heads right back into his room.
"How's Jordan? Billy told me he's up now."
"He called me a few hours ago while I was at the shoot. I'm happy he's awake and seems to be doing okay." I say.
