A rage unlike anything that I had ever experienced before, grew in me. "I hate her," I spat out. I hate Addy." "I know you do. She's trying to take Colby from you. They all are, Addy. The other girls that he speaks too. His friends. Even Sam, who is always so nice to you. He doesn't want you to have Colby. See, look." She waved her arm towards one of the blank walls, and a screen appeared. On that screen were Sam and Colby, talking. "She's a ghost, Colby. Anna is a ghost. Nothing can ever happen between you two. You need to just let her go. Move on, brother. I want you to be happy, but she isn't the one." Sam?! How could he? I thought he was my friend. They were supposed to be helping me, but instead, they were all against me. Except Colby. He really wanted to help me. To figure out a way that we could be together. "You can be together," she replied, softly. Could she hear my thoughts? "Here, in this place. Anything is possible." "I want to be with him. More than anything," I whimpered. My head didn't feel right. It was swimmy, and clouded. I couldn't make coherent thoughts, and the words that I managed to get out, sounded childlike. What was wrong with me? "You're okay," she said. I was okay. Colby. I needed to be with him. Anyway that I could be. "If you want him, you must take him. Bring him here. Where both of you can be safe and happy. Together forever." I nodded, in agreement. "Safe and happy," I repeated. I blinked as a bright light flashed in front of my eyes, and found myself next to Colby, in a room that I had never been in. How did I get here? Hadn't we just been up in his room? I couldn't remember coming down here. There was something really wrong with me. Tara was there, and that Addy girl. I hated her. Hated her so much. She was trying to take Colby from me, and I wasn't going to let that happen. I watched as she got up and went to sit across from us. "So, what happened to your arm, Colby?" she asked, flipping her hair behind her ear, and smiling at him. Don't smile at him like that, you stupid whore! He looked unsure of how to answer her question. "Uh, I cut it," he replied, looking away from her to the door, like he was waiting for others to come in. "Ow," she said, cringing a little. "It must be pretty bad. I can see it soaking through the bandage. Did it just happen?" Why did she care? It had nothing to do with her. He had nothing to do with her. It was none of her business! I wanted to reach across and just slap her stupid face. "Not too long ago," he answered, while bringing his arm down out of her view. I could tell that he was getting annoyed, and that made me happy. "What happened?" she asked, scooting forwards on her chair, closer to him. I saw a little anger flash in his eyes. Good. Tell her to fuck off! There was no reason for her to be here. "I just had an accident, Addy," he snapped. "I don't want to talk about it." Yes! Score one for Anna, zero for Addy! I grinned smugly, and sat back, crossing my legs. "Colby!" Tara exclaimed. No, Tara, don't you dare! Anna sat back and snapped her mouth shut. "That was rude! Why are you being a dick?" Tara asked, indignation on her face. "She deserved it," I muttered, so low that no one could hear me. "Sorry," he replied immediately, guilt on his face. "I'm just in pain. Don't feel much like talking." The slut gave him a soft, timid smile. "It's okay. I'm sorry if I was being annoying," she replied, looking down. "No, you weren't," he assured her, but I could tell he was lying. Lying to spare her feelings. For what? What did he care if he hurt her feelings?! She was just another slut. "Hmph," I huffed out, leaning back up next to him. He paused, and glanced to where I was sitting. He knew that I was here. Good. Let's see him flirt now. Just then, more people filed into the room. Corey, Jake, Katrina, and Sam, with Sam pulling up the rear. He handed Colby a bottle of water, and a bowl of popcorn. Colby cleared his throat, then glanced from Addy, who was standing up to get out of Sam's seat, then back to me, before looking at Sam. "So, what movie are we watching?" he asked, tossing a few pieces of popcorn into his mouth with his good arm. "Oh, I think you'll like it!" Sam exclaimed, sitting down. Katrina sat in his lap sideways and leaned back against the arm of the chair. "It's new. Something about this dude that works a normal 9-5 job, but things happen and he discovers that he's actually a NPC inside of a brutal video game." "Remind me what an NPC is again," Colby responded, confusion evident on his face.  "Non Player Character. Which means he's just a random person in the game that isn't controlled by someone playing," Sam replied, before smacking Katrina's thigh. "OWACH!" she exclaimed, dramatically. Sam laughed, and kissed her. "Couldn't resist," he said. "Ass," she replied, but there was a love filled smile on her face. I wanted that. I wanted that kind of love, that kind of relationship. I was envious of them. "Ah, okay, sounds pretty cool. Or weird. Not sure yet," Colby answered, settling himself back into the cushions. I leaned back and put my head against his shoulder. He couldn't feel me, but if this was all I could get, then I would take it. We would be together for real, soon enough. "Are we going to watch a horror movie tonight too?" Jake asked, from where he sat on the large couch that was against the back wall. Tara, Corey, and Addy were sitting back there with him. "Yeah, I got a good one picked out," Sam replied, wagging his eyebrows up and down. "A ghost story. Very scary." "Great," Corey muttered, chewing on a Twizzler. "Noooo, I don't wanna watch a scary movie," Kat pouted, poking her bottom lip out, while looking at Sam. He smiled at her with so much love, it actually made my own heart hurt. I craved that kind of love. "I'll protect you from the ghosties," he replied, tapping her lip with his finger.
