THE COLD BREEZE of the wind warns me that a disaster would happen. The curtains are dancing because of the strong wind. I embrace myself when I shiver. Sanay na ako sa mga di-pangkaraniwang nangyayari sa lugar na ito pero this time, it was truly different.
The gigantic trees outside are swaying its branches. A dark colored clouds was formed. It was as if, giving a warning to those who might see how angry it is.
I smile when I realize that I got wet. I was drying myself when a soft knock in the door echoes.
"Bukas yan." I smiled when my favorite person enters.
He smiled back. "My princess." He spread his arms–urging me to hug me, and I did.
I giggle in glee when I clash into his warm body. "Papa!"
"Oh, how I miss you!" I grimaced when his hug become tight. "I-I can't breathe."
"I'm sorry, Hija. Are you okay?" My father is over reacting again. I stop him from what his doing by holding his arms.
"I'm okay, Papa. I know you just did that because you miss me so much..." I scrunched my nose trying to be cute. His hazel eyes lit up which reflect mine.
"Oh, I love yo–"
"...Kahit kakakita lang natin kagabi." I butt in. I laughed when I saw how his eyes shifted from being soft–to being sharp.
"Although we just saw each other last night, I miss you so much!" I laughed wholeheartedly when he crosses his arms and pout.
"I will miss hearing your giggles, Anak." I stop from laughing. I look at him with teary eyes. Oh, how fast your mood change, Liliana.
My father is now looking at me with sad eyes too. I nodded understandingly. Its time again. My Papa will leave again. And I will be here, in this locked mansion.
He gently cups my face. "You know the reason why am I doing this, right?" I nodded. I bit my lip to stop myself from sobbing before answering him.
"T-To find the l-light." I heard him sigh and gently embraces me. I equal his embrace with a tighter one.
"You were the exact replica of my light, Liliana."
"It's time to go, Princess." I hug him tighter then eventually let him go.
He adoringly smiles at me. "Goodbye, Princess." I nod as I watch him leave my room. My tears rolled in my cheeks. Agad akong lumapit sa bintana, and there I saw, my father leaving me again.
I can't see him because of the umbrella but he stopped his tracks before entering the car. He then discarded the umbrella and wave his hand–not minding how wet he is now. I wave back as I saw him enter his car.
I watch through the window how his car descended. I sadly smile when I remember his story. My father is living a dark world. He was like in a close area where there's no reason to live on. But miracle happened. A light lit up a path on him which leads me to him and his reason to live. However, the light vanished in the thin air, so my father risks his life to find his light– his reason to live.
I lazily lay down in my bed. I can hear the strong rain and wind in my room. Somehow, it soothes me.
I abruptly stand up to look something suspicious but the only thing I found is the glistening light in the wall of my room.
Naluluha akong nakatingin sa liwanag. "M-Mama?" I stretch my hand to touch the light. But the light disappears before I even touch it. I look around to find it.
"Mama?" I gasped when the light appears again, but this time, it was in the door. My father's word echoed in my ears.
"When the light appears in front of you, Anak. You should follow it, because it will lead you to your happiness, My Princess."
With the words my father told me, I follow the light. It appears and disappears as if it was really leading me to something. I don't even care when for the first time, I step out my foot on the castle my father builds where he locked me up.
The moment when my feet touch the cold ground, the light disappear. I didn't mind the rain and the wind who embraces me. The light I'm following disappears and now I'm lost.
For a blink of an eye, screeching of tires and the none stop loud horns of a car echoes in my ears. I look at my right where the sound is coming from. A blinding light welcomes my eyes.
I was in daze when I felt how I fly in the air with the unbearable pain in my whole body. I close my eyes and find myself in the cold ground of the road, hands–have blood and a car with cracked windows and doors hanging near the cliff.
Before my eyes closes, I saw a silhouette of a person come near me.
"What the fuck?" I heard a cursed along the heavy rain.
