I don’t know how long I have been staring at my parent’s tombstones. Timothy offered to drive me to the cemetery, but I refused and told him that I’ll ask Adrian instead. It’s been a while since we last visited our parents together.
I can still remember how my mother was killed. I was there. The police pointed it out as an accidental fall on the stairs, but they were—are wrong. Henry pushed her down the stairs. I saw the malicious look on his face when that happened. As a child, it was too traumatizing for my brain to handle that it wiped out that certain event that could have landed Henry to jail.
That bastard was lucky. I was only able to remember it again when I finally regained my memories after having amnesia for nearly a year.
I can remember everything that I have forgotten as a child. I remember moving my mother’s casket beside our father when I had my first paycheck. I hate the place Henry chose to bury her. I want my mother to have peace beside the person she loves in the afterlife.
“Hey, mom,” Adrian broke the silence first. “Hey, dad.”
I sit down on the grass and place the bouquet of forget-me-nots on their tombstones. “Hi, mom, dad, I’m sorry if I wasn’t able to visit you guys for a while. A lot has happened. Will you believe me when I say that I actually had amnesia?”
I chuckle and narrate to them everything that have happen to me. I left out some parts since I haven’t told Adrian everything. I hate keeping things from him, but I need to.
“So, that’s everything,” I giggle as I finish narrating everything to them. “Timothy offered to accompany me here to visit you, but I said no and asked Addy instead.”
I felt Adrian pat my shoulder and sigh. “It’s going to be a rough year, mom, dad. We will be doing everything to gain back what is ours.”
“Yeah,” I pat Adrian’s hand on my shoulder. “I know you’ll not agree on what we are planning to do, but we have to do it for our peace of mind, and I won’t stop unless I saw Henry in jail.”
I’m not expecting for a reply, but I was hoping Adrian to counter what I said but when he said nothing, I know he agrees to my plan.
“We love to stay longer but it is getting late,” I wipe the leaves that falls on their stones. “I don’t want to worry Timothy.”
Me and Adrian say our goodbyes and head back to his car. The drive back Timothy’s home was quiet. We are both lost in our thoughts not knowing what was going to happen next. I sigh as I remembered how Henry killed my mother. It’s about to be messy.

I am afraid for Olivia. I know she’s planning to bring Henry and Ivan down, but she is hiding something from me. She’s planning something I’m not aware of.
Mostly, I am scared of losing her again.
I sigh as I scan the documents my parents sent to me. These are the finance reports of the Chase’s siblings’ company that Henry currently own. Apparently, Henry dropped their stock price by half almost plummeting the company financially. Henry is planning to drag the company to bankruptcy.
My parents quickly bought the shares to save the company until Olivia pushes through her plans. I quickly hide the papers when I hear the front door open. Olivia and Adrian just came back from visiting their parents.
I was disappointed when Olivia turned down my offer to drive her to the cemetery but when she mentioned Adrian, I quickly realized that she wanted to spend a little time with her family after not visiting for almost a year.
