Any more weeks like the ones I've been having and I will soon be dead..beat. Lol kidding...a bit. I have lost like half my hair. I don't think it's normal but what can ya do? Stress sucks.
Okay, anyways, thank you guys for the wonderful reviews and responses! Keep 'em coming!
AND cause I'm dying to know...are any of you guys from a different country that isn't America? And if you are, where may that be? I'd love to give your country a shout out!
Bella's POV
"Honey, you need to make friends...drink...Have sex even! All you do is work."
"Mother! Jesus Christ...I'm fine." I buried my face into the couch cushions, my frustration reaching its peak at only ten minutes into the phone call with Renee. She was being quite...boisterous today.
"No, you're not sweetie. You need to start your family. I want my grandbabies, Bella and I'm not getting any younger ya know?"
"Mom, my clock is far from ticking yet. I have time and I'm not...ready for all that yet."
"Not yet?! Bella, you are almost thirty years old. Do you really want to have your babies at forty?" Her voice held so much dislike and mortification, I laughed a good while. She was one to talk! She had me at twenty-eight.
At realizing this, my mother began to laugh along with me.
"I know, I know. Look, I'm a fifty-seven year old woman and I'm starting to picture my little grandbabies running around this house..." Her voice trailed off suggestively, causing a grand eye roll from myself.
"I can't believe you're really dating Phil. You do know he is only thirty-three right?" I chuckled.
"Oh.. I know. That man shows me every -"
"Okay! Nope. Stop right there," I interrupted abruptly, earning a hyenious laugh to erupt from her.
"You know you're momma's still got it," Mom replied coyly. I couldn't do much but agree. No one believes her when she says her real age, they always assume she's in her early forties... late thirties even. Mom was always beautiful.
"You sure do, Momma. Look, I have paperwork to do, I'll call you later okay? I love you," I said sincerely.
With a loud sigh, Mom replied. "Alright, honey. I love you too! Take care of yourself, Isabella. Do you understand me?"
"You know I do. I'll talk to you soon."
With a flick of my wrist, I tossed my cellphone aside and sprawled my aching body on my large bed. After nearly two hours at the gym, my thighs and calfs were aching. Wednesdays were devoted to my lower body, Fridays were upper body. Obviously with the job I had and the men and women I came in contact with on a daily basis, I needed to stay fit.
I did have quite the work to do, but as I pondered over the weeks events and a certain someone with gorgeous green eyes...I couldn't help but think mom was probably right. I wasn't getting any younger. Time flew by, almost unnoticed and at times, I was stunned to find myself so enraptured by my work that any socialization had almost ceased to exist from me. I guess I was following the all work, no play motto quite religiously.
Gosh, when was the last time I went out?
I cringed at the answer.
Far too long. I knew no matter how much I tried to justify my lack of, well, life, with the excuse of my work and constant traveling but I always seemed to have free time to myself.
