A week had passed, I had spent some of it in bed, trying to hide from my feelings and whatnot. After the Rookie Fire Games, I had come home and cried. The second day I had heard someone knock at the door before leaving after the fifth time knocking while I laid in bed while staring at the ceiling. A few days after that I opened shop again and returned to normal or as normal as I could. I pouted about my store doing what had to be done.
I was now ringing up an order for roses, The love flower, for a man who had made his wife mad. He left and I waved at his back wishing him luck. Once my shop door closed and sat in my chair behind the counter. I sighed while placing my head down on the counter and closed my eyes against the bright sunshine coming through the window.
"(F/N)," Takeru's soft voice filled the air.
"Gahhh! Would you stop! I know I shouldn't have just walked away! I've been hearing you nonstop!" I groaned out loud, "I want to say sorry... I want him to know I'm not mad at him!"
"I-i'm sorry!" Takeru's voice shook.
I snapped my eyes open and lifted my head. Takeru was in front of me. He was looking everywhere but me. I felt my face heat up and I collapsed behind my counter. He peeked over the edge as I tried to hide.
"You shouldn't say sorry," I huffed and wouldn't look up towards him, "I should. You probably think I was mad at you for not winning but that's not it. I was... mad at myself."
"Why were you mad at yourself," He asked softly, I could hear him stepping softly.
He appeared at the opening of the counter. He bent down and sat down next to me. I turned my head and looked away from him. It was hard with him in normal street clothes that were perfect for his tall figure. I peeked over at him and sure enough, Dark blue tee shirt and casual jeans that were ripped in the knees from wear and tear.
"I was mad because..." I trailed off trying to think of a clever lie.
"(F/N)..." He leaned against the counter and looked at his hand while talking to me, "I get it if you don't want to tell me. I did mess things up. I-I let my fear control me."
I leaned more towards him and slowly put my hand on his arm, I felt a gasp leave me, the first time i touched him! I glanced up at his face and blushed.
"You couldn't control that," I breathed out a sigh, "You didn't mess things up. In fact, you probably made it easier for others to get out or in with all the holes you put into the building."
Takeru lifted his head and stared at my face. I couldn't help but look away from his closed-eyed stare. The heat seemed to rack up in my face and was becoming unbearable.
"Y-you think so?" He asked softly.
"I know so," I leaned on his shoulder and sighed, "I watched the news after i got home. I watched a lot of fire soldiers using your holes to get other contestants out. I'm glad you didn't get caught inside though."
"I tried to come by the other day," Takeru put a large hand over my own that rested on his forearm, "No one answered so i figured you were out."
I lied and gritted my teeth, "I was at the store probably."
"N-no you weren't," Takeru called out my lie and glanced down at me, "I waited a while after i knocked waiting for you to come home."
"You got me," I sigh, "I was sulking in my room."
"Why were you sulking?" He asked softly.
I leaned away from him and asked another question, "Do you have anyone you like romantically?"
