Chapter 7

"Hey Chaeyoung," called Jungkook as he made his way towards her,"are you ready?"

"Yeah, let's go," she replied with a smile as they began walking towards his car.

On their way to his car, Chaeyoung noticed that Jungkook was looking extra happy today. She was confused because he was awfully cheerful after getting punched that morning.

"Hey Jungkook," she said as they walked to his car,"why are you smiling so much?"

"You'll see," he replied as he smiled even more. This caused Chaeyoung to question many things in her head, only for her to reply with a sigh and an okay.

Chaeyoung and Jungkook drove for about 20 minutes and were now at a small Café that Chaeyoung had never heard of or seen before. It was a small and cozy place that had a small stage. The bulletin board on the wall had a flier for an open temporary musician spot crossed out. There were a few people who looked to be a little older than them sitting around in various spots. They were either talking or just embracing the ombiance. When Jungkook said he'd be back and she can go on ahead and order, she took as nothing to special and did just that.

"Hello miss," said a man with a very cheerful smile,"What would you like?"

"Oh, yes just one second," she replied with smile as well. As she was looking she noticed a man with very broad shoulders walked out of the back with a tray of sweets.

"Here's the new batch, Hoseok," said the man as he slide it onto the counter and started to arrange them in the casing below.

"Thanks, hyung," he replied as he began to help and make it faster."Let's make this quick because the newbie is about to perform."

"Oh, okay," he replied as he started to arrange the sweets faster.

"I am ready to order," said Chaeyoung as they finished, ordering a strawberry cake and mango smoothie.

When she sat down, she saw a man come out on stage with an accompanist in tow, his white dress shirt pushing against his body and black pants slick as they grasped his legs. Chaeyoung's amazement when she saw the face of the singer was nothing short of adorable. She was truly shocked to see Jungkook, the person she came with, standing up on stage and getting ready to sing for a live audience.

Jungkook looked at Chaeyoung's face when he walked on stage and giggled. She was definitely surprised to see him, and that made this all the more great for him.

Jungkook looked to his accompanist, Min Yoongi, and nodded for him to start playing the piano. As he played, Jungkook sat down on the stool with the microphone in hand, closing his eyes and listening for his entrance.

He sang the words tenderly and softly, Yoongi following his lead and making the performance that much better. Chaeyoung, remembering the melody of this song, realized that she was in for a treat, for this was going to be the first time Chaeyoung heard the full song.

A pitch dark room
I shouldn't get used to it
But I'm used to it again
The low-pitched sound
of the air conditioner
If I don't have this,
I might just fall apart.

The familiar words Chaeyoung both read and heard sank in and calmed her, her mind thinking about the sound of rain on a window, and people talking in the background of a calm Café. The sound of people entering was heard, but she was to focused on Jungkook to care.
