Chapter 10

"Well I am glad it went well," said Chaeyoung as she sat down on her bed, her phone to her ear and a smile on her face. Jungkook had just gotten home from work and called her to tell her what happened. Chaeyoung asked him tell her everything before anyone else found out. She did her best to not over react when listening to the story, though her work went to waste quickly.

"So, now that this thing has been settled," Chaeyoung began with a devious smile,"why don't you try out for the Senior Talent Show?"

The lime went silent, not a word said for  3 minutes. Chaeyoung was worried that Jungkook was going to say no, her hopes getting higher as time went on.

"You know what? I'll do it, Chaeng," he finally said, causing Chaeyoung to jump around and cheer happily in her room. She was so proud of him for saying yes and taking the chance to truly prove his abilities. She couldn't wait for the Senior Talent Show, despite it being 2 months until auditions. Chaeyoung still remembered her homeroom teacher telling her about the event freshman year.

The Senior Talent Show is an event that everyone in the senior class looked forward to each year. The talent show was made for the seniors to showcase their talents to the rest of their class.

Each year, the school holds auditions for the seniors who want to participate, choosing anywhere from 15-20 different acts that go on in front of the entire school, as well as any extra attendees the school or performers invite.

After the show concludes, the senior class votes on the top 5 performances, giving the performers the chance to showcase their performance during the graduation ceremony.

However, nobody knew that one student's audition was going to change this year's talent show, turning it into the most memorable one at the school.

2 months later

"Next up on the audition block, Jeon Jungkook," said the Vice Principal as he looked through the audition sheets on his clipboard. The Principal, and the other three staff judges, looked up at the stage to see Jungkook walking out with his phone and a bluetooth speaker.

"Mr. Jeon will be performing 'Still With You', a song that he wrote and composed himself," continued the Vice Principal as Jungkook finished setting up and grabbed the microphone."You may begin whenever you are ready."

Jungkook was ready. Chaeyoung and their friends had been preparing him for 2 months for this audition, the constant practice of performing in front of people being forced down his throat. He wanted to show off his progress and let everyone know that he was prepared for this.

He took a deep breath and let out a sigh as he tried to calm himself. He tapped on the play button on his phone, the clicks to bring him in starting almost immediately.

The Principals and teachers looked at Jungkook in awe from the very first note he sang, their pens all sitting on the table. They mindlessly chose to watch and listen instead of writing down notes. They knew instantly that he was going to be in the talent show.

As Jungkook finished everything up to the first chorus like asked, he stopped the music and looked at the judges for the first time since he started singing. They all had huge smiles on their faces, the complete opposite of their originally bored looks.

"Mr. Jeon, that was wonderful," said the Principal as he stood from his seat."I believe that your performance is a must for this talent show."

All of the other judges nodded and hummed in agreement."Thank you, you may now go back to your classes," said the Principal as he pointed Jungkook in the direction of the door exiting the auditorium.
