Ashi Blades (An SAO Fanfiction)

Chapter 3

A gnat? Of all things, a mutant gnat. What, was Kayaba drunk when he made Floor Two?

We quickly shoved ourselves outside the boss room, breathing heavily from shock, fear, and laughter. All at once, we burst out laughing in synchronization. But, then again, we heard more voices off in the distance. They were more... I-am-in-my-twenties-and-lonely-men voices. We sat outside the boss room door, eating some "soy sauce grilled chicken" sandwiches, except we used SAO ingredients.

Maralie and Joshuo had prepared some sliced "carrot, ham and strawberry jam" sandwiches. Once again, SAO ingredients. We ate while waiting for the voices to get closer, and they did. Soon enough, we could see them.

"Oi, Gami! I see some players. See, I told you I could hear chewing." Said a reddish-orangish, sprayed-up hair boy. He wore a remarkably and noticeably blue bandana around his hair.

"What a nerd you are, Tasm. Nobody ever takes time to improve their listening skill." Said the magenta haired boy, who I suspected to be Gami. Two more boys showed up, alongside one another.

"Oi, you two, Falckon, Soiberu, fish out that bread and cream you made. And quickly, for we must treat our newcomers!" At this, I scoffed. Newcomers? I had been here since the launch, pretty much.

The neon green haired boy swiped down his menu. I was able to peek at his name; Soiberu. He entered his inventory, got out the bread and cream, so forth. After seeing Soiberu's name, I was guessing the brown haired boy was Falckon. The gang approached us, holding loads of bread and cream. We glanced at each other, then waved our hands and shook our heads in rejection of the boring, stale bread and cream. Soiberu frowned and stored them once more in his inventory.

"Alright, so! Are we here to fight the boss or what?" Exclaimed Tasm.

I looked at Usu, Komi, Ruce, Maralie and Joshuo. I nodded, "Sure, we have ten people, I think so. We can probably bomb this boss is we really tried! Let's go!" I got a glare from Tasm. He clearly loved being the leader. As a team, we shoved the boss door open and we were unsurprisingly greeted by the mutant gnat. We all charged, no plan and all.

I was trying to be very strategic, while most of the time Tasm's team just stabbed and thrust and sliced. The gnat flew around, crazed, when half of his bars were depleted. I paid no attention to our health bars. The gnat started flicking wings at us, trying to slap us. Tasm was whacked about 5 times... Then shards. I stared in wide eyed horror. I had just witnessed an innocent (but remarkably snooty) person die. This made my motor go. Fight harder, Ashi, harder... I jabbed the monstrous gnat many times out of anger. Then, big blue shards scattered all around me. A window entitled CONGRATULATIONS appeared. I had initially dealt the final blow to the boss. But then, I glanced over. Two kids were kneeled down by one body each. Ruce, and Soiberu. Gami was laying too... Ignored.

I didn't think anything was wrong.

Until I looked at their health bars.
