I. Hate. Jeon. Jung. Kook.
I glared at the notification on my phone alerting me that $200,000 was just wired to my bank account. The nerve! He really thinks that I only care about the money? ASSHOLE! I throw my vase across at the door.
Hye Ran walks in right at that moment and luckily manages to dodge the flying vase that just shattered right behind her.
"What the..." She stares at my current state. "Jade. What is going on?"
"Nothing!" I yelled at her even though I didn't mean to take my anger out on her. "Just. Nothing" I say again, more calmer.
"This isn't nothing." She points at the broken vases. "You've got a lot of explaining to do. Especially after what happened at the club last night."
"Nothing happened at the club." I crossed my arms.
"Is screaming "I fucking hate you Jeon Jung Kook" in a parking lot nothing?" She gives me a pointed look.
"You heard that?" I sigh.
"I don't know what's going on, but..." She walks over to me and engulfs me into a hug. I crumble to the ground and let her rock me back and forth in her embrace. She didn't say anything. She stroked my hair as I cried into her arms.
When I finally got myself together, I finally told her everything. She surprisingly took it well considering she's the biggest ARMY I know.
"That douche! How can Bang Shi Hyuk force you guys apart? BTS would have been successful whether or not Jung Kook had a girlfriend. You guys have been together since highschool, how could he just tear you guys apart like that!" Hye Ran was furious. "And that Jung Kook, he just gave in that easily?"
"He didn't even bother fighting his boss for us." I sigh. "He thinks I'm just concerned about the money that they're using to pay me off."
"Real talk. How are you feeling though? Do you still love him?" She gives me sad eyes.
"I don't think I ever stopped." I sniffle.
"That explains all your failed relationships." Hye Ran deadpans.
"Ya!" I slap her arm.
"Where's the lie!" She scoffs.
"There isn't" I give in. "Which is what makes this so annoying. Why can't I get over a boy I fell in love with when I was 16? I mean I thought I did. I've hated him for so long, so I thought I didn't care, but seeing him last night...I saw articles that he had a girlfriend, but it didn't even bother me. Not until I saw them together in person."
I threw myself onto my bed and shoved my face into my comforter. Hye Ran lays down next to me and lets out a long sigh.
"How does revenge sound?"
I pick my head up slowly and turn to look at my friend. "...Revenge?"
"Revenge." She smirks.
I stare at her for a bit before breaking out into a laugh. "Shut up." I shove her playfully.
-
"And then she slapped her across the face!" Mr.Han exclaims.
My hand went up to my mouth. "She didn't!" I gasped.
"She did!" Mr.Han responded as he gave the customer their change.
"Have a nice day." We both said to the customer at the same time.
At the same time a familiar guy walks in. That annoying grin, that I'd pay good money to never see again.
"Jade isn't it?" Dong-Hyuk licks his lips as he takes me in. "You look great even without makeup."
I could see Mr.Han gag in my peripherals.
"What are you doing tonight? I'm planning on hitting up the clubs with some friends. You should join us."
I was about to say that I was busy when Mr.Han spoke up. "She's not doing anything."
I shoot him a glare, but it doesn't phase the old man.
All of a sudden Hye Ran's voice plays in my head.
Revenge
I mean it wouldn't be revenge. It'll just be having a good time out.
"A good time with his friend " A voice in my head says.
I ignore the annoying voice and turn back towards Dong-Hyuk. A smile creeps onto my face. "What time are you picking me up?"
He leaves after we exchange phone number. The moment he leaves I turn to Mr.Han with a scowl on my face.
"This is what you get for still smoking cigarettes."
I drop my jaw. "You're punishing me? I don't even smoke cigs anymore!" I defended. Only weed, but like he doesn't have to know that.
He puts his hand out to me. I reach into my purse and pull out a basically full pack of Marlboro and slam it into his palm. "See? Only one is missing."
Mr. Han tosses the pack into the trashcan.
"Why do you even care. You're the one who used to sell them to me all the time. "
He slaps me on the arm. "That was before I knew you."
"I should have never befriended you." I joke.
"Yea well you're not capable of making any friends your own age." He spits back.
"Ouch." I grab my heart and dramatically fall out of the chair I was sitting in.
"Ya. Ya. Get out of my store. You're scaring the customers away." He shooed me out of the door. "Be safe tonight."
"I will." I wave goodbye to him. "Love you."
Mr.Han only waved me away as if I was really a burden to him, but I know inside he loves me.
-
"You look amazing." Dong-Hyuk basically undresses me with his eyes as I step out of my apartment building. I was wearing an emerald backless dress that stopped mid-thigh with a pair of silver stilettos to go with it.
"Your hair would look way better curled though." He fingers my straight hair.
"You would look better with your mouth shut." I slap his hand away. "Joking." I force a smile when I see his offended face.
We ended up heading to his workplace first because apparently he had to submit something last minute.
"Wanna come in? It won't take long." He asks, once we pull into the parking.
I shrug nonchalantly. "Sure." I agreed.
We step into the building and the first thing I notice immediately is the huge sign plastered onto the wall, above the receptionist desk.
