A new contract? I frown as I flip through the thick packet.
"This is a new and revised contract that you will sign if you truly care about the guys. I'm showing you mercy Jade. Instead of taking all your money and everything that you own for violating the first contract, I'll give you a hundred million for this new contract." Mr. Bang says. "You're a smart girl. You can do so much with this money. Why throw it all away to be have a relationship with a guy that you can't even be sure will last. Money is forever, but a boy? Nah."
"Who said I even wanted to be with Jungkook. We're not dating. We're not even talking to each other."
"You may not be talking now, but let's say it's just a safety precaution." The woman said.
I let their words marinate for a while. They're not wrong. I don't even have plans on getting back together with Jungkook. I'm only here because the lawsuit scared me, not to fight for Jungkook. I can't afford getting a lawyer and go through with paying the fines. The hundred million is tempting too. I signed this contract once, I can do it again.
"Wait. What about the other guys?" I asked. I was fine with leaving Jungkook behind, but I missed the boys so much.
"Forget about them."
After thinking for a bit, I realized this is for the best. I couldn't jeopardize them.
"Okay" I breathe out.
A happy smile breaks out on Mr.Bang's face.
"Smart girl." He hands me a pen.
My hand waivers over the sign box at the bottom of the page. This time, signing would be easier because I have no more emotional attachment to Jungkook. The first time was heartbreak, but this time it's different.
Just as I make the first line of my signature, the door kicks open.
"What is going on?" Jungkook's voice booms.
"Jungkook." Mr. Bang says calmly. "Please leave the room."
Jungkook marches over to me and looks at the contract I'm about to sign and rips it up.
"You're not signing this." He pulls me up by my wrist.
"Let her go!" Mr.Bang yells.
I got goosebumps hearing Mr.Bang raise his voice like that. I was afraid to even see what his face looked like.
"Why are you doing this? This is all my fault. I bothered her. I went to her. Not the other way around." Jungkook said.
"I'm doing this for your sake!" Mr.Bang says back. "And for good reason too. She doesn't love you! She was willing to sign for a hundred million."
Jungkook looks at me for a split second, an unreadable expression on his face. He replaces it with a blank look and turns back to Mr. Bang.
"I would too if I were her because we're not in a relationship. We mean nothing to each other." He said coldly. His words were like knives to my heart.
"You think she loves you? Take a look at all the guys she's been with since you guys broke up." He gestured to the photos that they showed me earlier. Jungkook doesn't say anything. He keeps a stoic face as his eyes gloss over the photos.
"If you mean nothing to each other, then just sign" Mr.Bang tosses the pen at me. "If not, you'll pay the fine for the first contract."
"Take it out of my paycheck." Jungkook spats. He grabs me by the wrist and drags me out with him.
"Jeon Jungkook! Get back here!" Mr.Bang bellows.
Jungkook turns his head around. "Or what? You'll fire me?" He scoffs. "I'm Jeon Jungkook of BTS. Good luck with that."
He pushed me into the open elevator. "I called you a taxi. Go home."
"How'd you know I was here?" I asked him.
"Tae."
The elevator doors slide close and right before it closes, I catch glimpse of Jungkook's face and it breaks my heart a little. The emotions that I felt when I signed the first contract hit me again, but instead it hurt even more this time. I can't even explain why.
