                              AMELIA

I stumbled forward, trying to balance myself, but lost my footing and fell down. Thankfully, someone was there to catch me. But when I made out from my blurry vision, that someone was Santino.

Holy crap. Why was Santino holding me?

"San—" my voice came out as a soft whisper. I couldn't feel anything. My head was spinning. I couldn't lift up my hand or myself up. What was happening to me?

"What are we waiting for, Amelia? Let me take care of you. You look like you should sit down, let's go upstairs for a bit," he told me while his hands ran over my lower back.

Next thing I knew, he lifted me up into his strong arms. I wanted to say something. I wanted to run away but I couldn't. It was like I didn't even have control of my own body anymore.

"I'll take you to the room upstairs." I heard him telling someone. Probably me.

He took me inside the house and upstairs to a dark room. I tried to scream for anyone to help me but I couldn't. My mind was screaming but nothing came out of my mouth. All everyone probably saw was a drunk girl being helped.

Santino carried me and set me down on the bed. I tried to run away, move my body, anything, but nothing happened. What was going on?

"You think you're all that but without Asher by your side, you're nothing but a helpless, afraid, little bitch." He spat out. I lowered my eye to see him at the foot of the bed with his usual smirk on his face, his eyes glittered with joy.

The drink. Did he drug me? But why? What did I ever do to him?

"Everything was going great, Amelia. Before you showed me your true colours. Before you slapped me. Everything was going great! We could have had so much fun behind Asher's back, but no. You always had to pretend to be the goody-two-shoes, didn't you?" He ranted in an angry tone, completely pissed over the fact that I had slapped him.

But what the hell was he talking about? I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Santino wanted... that?

Never. Not in this life.

"You always insulted me, puncturing my ego again and again, hurting it. It was not until you slapped me that I realised you needed to be taught a lesson. Wouldn't want Boss to deal with a damsel in distress, would we?" He said in a mocking tone.

I opened my mouth to reply but no words came out. Not even a slight whisper.

"Now, it's time for you to enjoy."

No. No way!

"Don't wander around. Don't get too close to people." Asher's voice echoed in my head.

"And poor, sad little Amelia. You walked in the hallway at just the right moment." Santino walked around the bed and closer to me. He stood right next to me. I tried to move my body away but couldn't. I was just stuck there.

"But it's all going to end tonight. I wonder, what would Asher think if he saw you sleeping with another man while he's coping with the fact that he has to marry you." The look on his face scared me.

He had this satisfying and overjoyed expression which scares the crap out of me. I had never seem this side of Santino before. He was always cheesy and flirty to me. I couldn't believe it was all just a façade.

He lifted up his hand and moved it towards my face. "Now I'll take care of you real nice." He dragged his finger against my cheek. I flinched.

That was the first time since he had drugged me that I could feel my face. Maybe the drug was wearing off.
