"Anyone want to come with me to run by the stationary store...I need a book,"Louis asked the boys who were all sitting in Harry's spotless room. Niall choked on the water he was sipping,Zayn spun around so fast that HIS hair fell out of place,Liam almost broke the teapot handle and Harry who was giving Lou a neck massage almost strangled him.
"Harry honey,you may have a choking kink but please not in front of the other lads,"Louis wheezed out. Harry quickly let go of the older boy,cheeks flaming. "So anyone coming with?" Louis repeated.
"Lou why would YOU !"Liam started but Zayn nudged him and said, "what Liam's trying to say is that for what purpose would you need a book?"
"For math," Louis shrugged like it was the most natural thing in the world. If it was possible,everyone looked even more shocked.
"Uh Lou,you don't actually have math,"Niall stated. "See Nialler, that's where you're wrong. I'm doing math this term." "But you hate math!" Harry protested.
"No I don't "
" You once called math a communication system for nobody losers who couldn't use normal words to save their lives and each had the mental age of 100,"Harry said blandly.
"I never said that," Louis whined. "Yes,you did.You said this back in grade school when I said I liked math." "Hazza bear,as much as I LOVE the fact that you remember exactly what I said all those years ago, I actually want to do math now."
"Okay Lou what's up? Something is wrong,"Zayn sounded super concerned.
"I realised drama wouldn't get me anywhere in life and maybe numbers will. Plus Eleanor is so hot."
"Hold up what do you mean Eleanor?Are you altering your life plans for a girl?" Niall screeched. Come to think of it..Niall had been screeching at Louis a lot these days.
"No I mean Cowell told me I have to show his daughter around and it's best that we have the same subjects, plus he helped me realise drama would get me nowhere in life."
"This girl is Cowbell's daughter?!"Liam shrieked. Liam never called any teacher by a nickname.never ever.
"But Lou,"Harry said. He was still sitting down,unlike everyone else,peering through his large emerald eyes at Louis. "Lou,you love drama,it's always been your thing. And you're fucking amazing at it,you can't let some random person tell you your future." "Hazza I appreciate your concern but the prof does know more about careers and stuff than you lot,and I feel it's best if I follow his advice."
"But Louis-" Zayn tried to reason but the feather haired lad cut him off. "No buts I want to try math. Why is that a problem for everyone?"
"I'll come with you!"Liam interrupted. Louis knew this was probably because he hated his friends fighting,but he was grateful that at least one person was trying to act like they supported him. "Thanks Payno,"Louis said and the two boys hastily wore their shoes and left the three confused angry boys.
The two brunettes walked in awkward silence,neither of them wanting to acknowledge the elephant in the room.The wind blew Louis' hair to one side and he grumbled under his breath and tried to get his fringe back into place again.
They reached the stationary store and when Louis went to ask for math books,Liam excused himself and went to the other side to ask one of the employees about the best kind of sharpeners or something.Bless the lad.At least he wasn't making it weird for both of them.
They trudged back again,in silence.Louis struggled to lift his heavy books.If math was just numbers,why were the books so thick?
Usually Liam would've offered to help carry them or something,but this time the puppy eyed boy didn't lift a hand at all.They reached at the path where they had to part to go to their separate dorms and finally Liam said, "I hope you know what you're doing Lou."
Liam left Louis like that,stuck on a garden path,holding his new textbooks that probably only looked appealing to vomit on and a very confused mind. 'I hope so too Li,hope so too."
