The Singhanias arrived at Mumbai the very next day, just a few hours before the Haldi ceremony started. The lawn of Oberois was decorated with all kinds of yellow flowers that were available at such a short notice.
Nandita Oberoi, Mayera's mother, had called up a designer friend and arranged outfits for everyone. Kabir and Arjun took care that the media doesn't get a whiff of the news. Kiara and Veer wanted this wedding to be a very private affair. They had decided that they themselves will post pictures on social media once the marriage is done.
Kiara and Veer were made to sit together. All the family members applied turmeric on their body and gave them blessings. Mayera even guided Navya and made her apply haldi on her Veer chachu and Kia Maa's face.
After the function was over, Veer had sneaked into Kiara's room and had applied haldi on her would-be wife's face.
Then, in the evening, the mehendi ceremony started. The finest henna artist was called to apply henna on Kiara's hands. She got emotional seeing Tejas and Nandita doing so much for her, but they both had shut up by saying that she was their daughter too, just like Mayera.
Kiara wanted to write Veer's name with henna, so she asked the henna artist to do it and also instructed her to hide it well in her palm. While getting her hands filled with mehendi, she got thirsty and asked for water. Since everyone was busy, Kabir got it for her and made her drink it. He looked like he wanted to say something, but he just simply took out a bundle of notes from his pocket and rotated it around her head, before giving it away to a servant. Kiara couldn't help but smile at her cousin. Kabir kissed her forehead and padded away.
Kabir and Kiara might have spent their entire life fighting like cats and dogs, but that didn't mean they loved each other any less. Kiara was as dear to him just like Mayera, and it was proved when Kabir had taken Veer aside and threatened him to take care of Kiara, just like he'd done with Arjun.
The next day, makeup artists arrived in the morning and started their work on Kiara. According to the ritual, the bride's attire comes from the groom's family. As Shalini was filling up for Veer's mother, she had gotten a beautiful lehenga. While giving it to Kiara, along with the rest of the jewelleries and accessories, she had cupped her face and kissed her head. "I am so lucky to have daughter-in-laws like you and Mayera. Welcome to the family, beta."
