"we're literally just getting food, minah" i roll my eyes as she swirls around in her pink floral dress, smiling.

"what? you never know, you could meet the love of your life at a mcdonald's"

"no, if they're the love of your life, you'll meet them in some place fancy, not a dingy fast food restaurant" audrey butts in, and i laugh at her words as we move up in the queue.

"oh my fuck! it's aaron" minah's eyes widen and she straightens her dress out. "see, aaron could be the love of my life" she adds, and i glance over to see aaron hull stroll in with vincent. ugh.

"what's he doing here?" i question, and audrey lifts her head up to look at him.

"what everyone else is doing here. buying food" she chuckles at her own words.

"they're coming over. oh god" i watch as minah freaks out and the both of them stride over to us, skateboards in hand.

"hey, minah" aaron says, smiling at her.

vincent scoffs, rolling his eyes at the sight of me. this motherfucker...

"hi aaron" i can tell she's nervous by the way she's fidgeting with her fingers.

"what are you guys doing?" he asks, the air is thick with awkwardness.

"just um- we're-"

"getting food" i answer for her and she smiles in thanks.

"oh, us too. right vinnie?" he nods, not lifting his eyes from his phone.

"we can sit together if you want?" aaron suggests and audrey glances at me, eyes widening.

"how about no-"

"yes!!" minah interrupts vinnie a little too excitedly and he furrows his brows.

"great! let's get a booth" aaron and minah walk away to a table, shoulders brushing slightly. audrey follows them. vinnie just leans against the wall, eyes glued to his phone.

after a few moments of awkward silence vinnie mutters something.

"you gonna move up or what?" he says, almost startling me. i scoff at his harsh remark before moving up.

"archer was right, you are a dick"

"and you're a bitch" he shoots back, chuckling. i curl my lip up at his words.

"fuck off" i seethe, getting more and more irritated by him as the time goes by.

"gladly" he walks away, sitting with the rest.

"you're an idiot" minah says too me as they all laugh at my joke. vincent doesn't, he just glares at me of course.

i notice aaron and minah become closer as time passes.

"are we going to leave or what?" everyone's gaze directs towards him and he crinkles his nose.

"cant you wait? i'm kinda having fun" aaron says, looking at minah and smiling on that last part.

her cheeks flush, and she nibbles at her bottom lip.

"i feel like a fucking third wheel"

"fifth wheel" he adds, eyes darting between audrey and i. she just shrugs and looks back down at her phone.

"do you ever smile?" i question, and he doesn't respond.

"he doesn't" aaron answers for me, and i nod.

"i do, shut up"

"don't you have a girlfriend to attend to vinnie?" aaron asks.

he has a girlfriend? oh.

"she's not my girlfriend" vincent huffs out, per usual.

"look we're gonna leave you guys- to do whatever" i stand up, pulling audrey along with me.

"but i'm not finished my-" i place my finger on audrey's lip to silence her.

"i think you should leave too, vincent" i say to him, and he groans.

"it's vinnie"

"and don't tell me what to fucking do" i am startled by his harsh words but i drag audrey along and leave.
