"Don't go there because you'll never return, I know you think of me when you think of her."

It didn't take long for the sirens to ring out in the air, and I knew we were busted as Newt, Thomas and I ripped our helmets off, sharing a look of panic before speeding up. "I didn't know this place had a music system." I tried to ease the tension.

"It's an alarm, not a song, Pen." Key word, tried. Thomas doesn't seem to like my sarcasm, but Newt seemed to smile despite his pain.

When we made our way out of the hallway, there were nurses and doctors staring at us as we speed-walked, and I knew they knew we weren't supposed to be there.

What are they gonna do? Inject us? They aren't guards.

They probably would.

Thomas was right, and it made me shiver slightly as a man stared down at me with dark eyes, keeping my gaze and attention in front of myself as I walked. "Have you ever noticed," I had begun, being interrupted by the groaning of the boys.

They had complained the whole time that we couldn't be on a secret mission if I never stopped talking, but this mission stopped being a secret the moment the alarm system was triggered.

"As I was saying.." I clear my throat. "Whenever things go horribly wrong, us three happen to be at the scene of the crime?"

"It's definitely Tommy." Newt sent me a lousy smirk, tugging at my heart slightly.

Newt was covered in sweat, a bit of blood and dirt lined up on his forehead, and he looked as though he would collapse any second now. But he never did. Newt continued walking, gun raised and arm by his side.

"We're supposed to be at that stupid bus by now." Thomas huffed out, quickly turning into a sealed room and hiding us in there as we heard footsteps approaching. We had realised, or rather Thomas had realised, that guards were near, and quickly went to hiding within the room.

Newt placed his hand on my head, gently stroking my hair as he knew it would calm me down, and I was suddenly incredibly grateful for his touch as it soothed me, Thomas shooting us an irritated look before getting up again.

Hallway after hallway, this entire journey felt never-ending, and it made me wonder why the non-athletic ones were looking for the athletic guy. Well, Newt and I are probably un-athletic, Thomas doesn't seem to be.

I stopped walking halfway through our journey when I noticed Thomas and Newt slow down, stopping near a woman dressed in all white. I didn't recognise her, but perhaps it was because I never escaped the maze with them or faced the scorch with them, but I knew she wasn't looking to help us when Thomas approached her.

I knew because he took his gun out and aimed it to her head, by the way.

Looking to my left, I saw Newt fumble to grip his gun as Janson came into our line of vision. I quickly yelled for Thomas to get away before shoving him to the side, and the three of us ran out of the way as Janson and his W.I.C.K.E.D. guards begun shooting bullets left, right and centre towards us.
